JoSAA Round 2 Seat Allotment 2025: The JoSAA Round 2 seat allotment 2025 was released on June 25, 2025. The document verification and reporting for Round 2 will be done from June 25 to 29, 2025. It is mandatory for the candidates to complete the JoSAA round 2 verification & reporting as per the scheduled timeline to make sure that the allotted seat does not get cancelled. If you are securing admission through JoSAA Round 2 counselling 2025, you can either proceed with the seat acceptance process and participate in Round 3. If you are satisfied with the Round 2 allotment status, you can choose the Float/ Side option so that you will be eligible for the seat allotment in JoSAA Round 3 counselling 2025, subject to vacant seat availability.

JoSAA 2025 Round 2 Seat Acceptance Process

Once the seat is allocated, you will have to either Freeze, Float, slide or withdraw the seat -

  • Float: This option is available for candidates who want to maintain their assigned seat while also upgrading their seat.
  • Freeze: If you are content with your JEE Main round 2 seat allotment 2025 result and do not want to participate in subsequent rounds of JoSAA counselling, you can select the freeze option.
  • Slide: If you accept the seat granted in round 2 but choose to upgrade to the B.Tech programme at the same JEE Main participating institute, you can choose the slide option.
  • Withdraw: If you have already taken a seat, you may withdraw from the seat by reporting to the designated institute before the final round of JEE Main seat allotment 2025

What if no seat is allotted in JoSAA Round 2 Counselling 2025?

If there is no seat allotted in JoSAA Round 2 counselling 2025, you can go through the suggested steps below -
  • Firstly, check the closing rank of the college and course that was chosen as the Preference 1 to 5 while filling the choices
  • Match your rank with the closing ranks and analyse if admission could be possible in Round 3
  • If your rank slightly matches with closing rank of Round 2, wait for Round 3, as there is a chance for allotment
  • If your JEE rank is no way close to the Round 2 closing rank, either wait for the CSAB counselling 2025 that will begin in August or proceed with the state-level engineering admission process
  • There is a chance for admission in CSAB counselling due to the vacant seats that will remain after JoSAA Round 6 counselling
  • If you plan to participate in CSAB counselling , at least go through the last 2 years' CSAB Cutoff to analyse admission chances
