NEIGRIHMS Meghalaya MBBS Admissions 2023: Registrations, Eligibility, Choice Filling, Counselling

NEIGRIHMS Meghalaya MBBS Admissions 2023: The round 1 counselling for Meghalaya MBBS Admissions 2023 has begun. The counselling session will be conducted in offline mode. As per the merit list, the eligible candidates had to appear at Director's Conference Room, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong on August 4, 2023 from 11 am onwards. Candidates must report to the Director's Conference Room along with the important documents that are required for (Offline) counselling process.

The NEIGRIHMS is responsible for conducting the Meghalaya MBBS 2023 admission process. North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, popularly known as NEIGRIHMS is responsible for conducting Meghalaya  MBBS Admissions 2023. The merit list for Meghalaya NEET admissions 2023-24 has been released by the authorities on its official website.

Only July 27, 2023, the merit list was released for enrollment of aspirants in 18 North Eastern Open Category seats. The application form for Meghalaya MBBS admission 2023 was released on June 20 and the last to submit the form is July 14, 2023. The MBBS admission process in Meghalaya involves various steps, and the candidates need to follow the prescribed guidelines to seek admission. Meghalaya MBBS Admissions 2023

The admission authority, i.e., NEIGRIHMS is responsible for conducting admissions for MBBS course under 85% state merit quota. MCC or Medical Counselling Committee conducts the admissions for 15% seats under All-India Quota. Candidates can take part in both rounds of counselling to keep their chances alive in getting admission to MBBS course.

Domicile Rules: The applicants aspiring for the admission to MBBS course in Meghalaya must note that they should be permanent residents of one of the eight North-Eastern states of India including Sikkim. The candidates must have completed 10+2 in schools located in India. However, they should be the residents of NE states to be considered for the admission.

Educational Qualification: NEET-UG 2023 score is mandatory for the admission to MBBS course in Meghalaya. The candidates must have a valid score in NEET, i.e., minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. On the other hand, the candidates must have passed Class 12 from any recognised board with Physics, Biology and Chemistry as main subjects.

Age Limit: For getting admission into MBBS course in Meghalaya, the applicants must have at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2023. Candidates with less than 25 years of age as on May 06, 2023, are also eligible for the admission.

Meghalaya MBBS Application Process 2023

Step I: Candidates who are eligible for the admission to MBBS course in Meghalaya as per the above-mentioned eligibility criteria must visit the official website of NEIGRIHMS to complete the online registration. Check the ‘Important News’ section on the homepage of the official website. The link for the online application for MBBS course 2023 will be available under the important news section. Click on the link to proceed further.

Step II: Click on the login or Register link. The registration form will open, and the applicants will have to enter all the necessary details like Registered Mobile Number, E-Mail etc. The login credentials will be sent to the mobile number/ e-mail.

Step III: Now, the candidates must log in to fill the online application form. Fill all the personal and academic details carefully. NEET-UG roll number is mandatory to enter in the application form. After filling all the details in the MBBS application form, upload the following documents: -

• Passport Size Photograph (scanned copy not less than 80KB)

• Scanned image of candidate’s signature

• Domicile Certificate/ Residence Certificate/ Permanent Residence Certificate

• Class 10 & Class 12 Certificate/ Mark Sheet

• NEET-UG 2023 Score Card

• NEET-UG 2023 Admit Card

Step IV: After uploading the above-mentioned documents, pay the Counselling Processing Fee of Rs. 500. The counselling fee for the MBBS course can be paid in online mode, i.e., by using a credit card or debit card.

Step V: After the successful completion of all the above-mentioned steps, take the printout of the application form.

Meghalaya MBBS Selection Process 2023

Candidates, whose name is in the MBBS merit list of NEIGRIHMS, are eligible for the admission to MBBS course. Under NEET Open Category, only 18 seats are available for the admission to MBBS course in Meghalaya. The selected candidates must attend the counselling process to confirm admission.

NEIGRIHMS prepares a merit list based on the candidate’s merit in NEET-UG 2023. The merit list is uploaded on the official website of the institute. The merit list has the name, category, NEET roll number and NEET marks of the candidates. The merit list also has the date for the counselling. Meghalaya MBBS Counselling Process 2023

Step I: As per the merit list, candidates must attend the counselling process at NEIGRIHMS. The institute will primarily conduct a medical examination. Candidates who clear the medical test can proceed to the next step.

Step II: Verification of documents will take place in the second stage. The authorities will verify and crosscheck the details of the candidates. Admission will not be finalized unless the candidates produce all the original documents.

Step III: The admission authority will notify the candidates if admission is confirmed. The selected candidates must pay the course fee prescribed by NEIGRIHMS to confirm admission. The candidates will be given at least a couple of days to pay for the course and report to the college.

If any seats are vacant after the first round of counselling, the admission authority will conduct second round of counselling for the MBBS course.
