The National Eligibility Entrance Test, popularly known as NTA NEET, took on July 17. The NEET counselling process 2022 will be held soon. Through the counselling, eligible students will be granted admission to around 91,415 MBBS, 52,720 AYUSH, 603 BVSc & AH, 26,949 BDS, 1,205 AIIMS and 250 JIPMER seats all over India.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), will be responsible for conducting the NEET 2022 counselling for the 15% AIQ seats while the respective state authorities will be in charge of conducting the counselling sessions for 85% of State Quota seats.

NEET Cutoff 2022 – Types of Cutoff

The cutoff for NTA NEET 2022 exam has been released on the official website i.e. neet.nta.nic.in. Students must be aware of the two types of cutoff – qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff. NEET qualifying cutoff implies the minimum cutoff marks or percentile obtaining which will help candidates get through to the counselling round. This does not guarantee admission to one’s desired college but only acts as a qualifying degree. On the other hand, the admission cutoff is actually the cutoff marks or rank at which a student earns admission to a particular college.

As shown in the table above, the minimum qualifying percentile for General category candidates is 50th while that of the reserved candidates is 40th. For General – PH (Physically Handicapped), the percentile requirement is 45th and for the Reserved – PH category, it is 40th.
