This list is important for NID DAT counselling and seat allocation and will be based on the performance in both Prelims and Mains exams. For the B.Des program, the merit list, with categorization, is set to be revealed on May 21, 2024. Only candidates who participated in both NID DAT 2024 Prelims and NID DAT 2024 Mains will be included in the list. Likewise, the merit list for the M.Des program will be announced on April 30, 2024, following the same criteria.
It's important to highlight that the NID DAT 2024 Prelims took place on December 24, 2024, while the M.Des Mains exam is scheduled from March 4, 2024, to April 6, 2024. The NID DAT 2024 merit list will consider both NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains, with the specific weightage for each being shared around the time of result declaration. The importance assigned to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains will be announced during or near the results announcement.

The National Institute of Design may also release a second merit list based on the number of seats available. Students on the waiting list will be given priority in the second merit list for all postgraduate and undergraduate design programmes offered by the Institute. To check the merit list of NID DAT 2024, the steps given below need to be followed:
Go to the official website of NID or click on the direct link mentioned above (not activated yet).
Navigate through the site and find the ‘NID 2024 Merit List link.
A new window will pop-up.
Enter the credentials asked by the website.
Click on the submit button.
The merit list of NID DAT 2024 will be visible on the display screen.
Download and take a printout of the same for future reference.
The NID DAT Prelims results will be revealed separately for B.Des and M.Des. For the M.Des program, the NID DAT 2024 results will be announced on February 22, 2024, and for the B.Des program on March 28, 2024. Candidates who pass NID DAT Prelims must then take NID DAT Mains. If any candidate has doubts about their results, they can request a re-check.
Candidates listed in the final merit can join the NID DAT 2024 counselling process. B.Des candidates need to submit their campus preferences during counselling, while M.Des candidates do not need to select any campuses. Seat allocation will depend on a candidate's merit rank in NID DAT 2024. Once seats are assigned, candidates must pay token fees and upload the necessary documents to confirm their seats.

- A team of specialists will evaluate each candidate's portfolio, and the individual with the highest portfolio score will be given precedence.
- Preference will be given to the candidate with the highest Personal Interview score.
- Preference will be given to the elder candidate.
