ONGC will release the application form for recruitment through CLAT 2026, specifically for the position of Assistant Legal Adviser at E1 Level.  To be eligible for the role of Assistant Legal Adviser at ONGC, the applicant must first qualify in CLAT 2026 exam which has been conducted on on December 7, 2025. It is important to note that those who do not meet the cut-off score set by ONGC will not be considered for recruitment through CLAT 2026.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2026 Application Process

ONGC recruitment forms are filled online and are expected to be released in the month of September 2026. Candidates can apply for the ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2026 by following the simple steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Fill the Registration Form

  • The first and foremost step of applying for Assistant Legal Adviser (E1 Level) is to visit the official website.
  • Click on the application link available and press the ‘Apply Online’ tab.
  • Fill in all the essential information and credentials, including CLAT 2026 Application Number/ Registration Number.
  • Click on the tab that says ‘Submit’.
  • Note down the acknowledgement number of the ONGC Assistant Legal Adviser.

Note: You need to ensure that they are sharing the same details that they have previously shared in the CLAT 2026 application form . They also need to make sure that while filling out the application form, all the details filled in are correct. If any information is found to be incorrect or misleading, your candidature will be directly disqualified from the recruitment process.

Step 2: Upload the Documents

  • After filling out the application form, it is vital to upload the required documents. You need to upload their qualification documents along with photographs in the prescribed format.
  • The uploaded documents are acceptable in both image format as well as PDF format.

Step 3: Fee Payment

  • Before moving to the fee payment option, preview the details entered. Go through it once to edit or rectify any possible errors.
  • Proceed to the fee payment option.
  • Fees for ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2026 can be paid using an SBI Bank Challan in an offline mode.
  • The fee is to be deposited in ‘ONGC Power Jyoti, A/C Number 30827318409 of State Bank of India, Tel Bhavan, Dehradun’.
  • After the fee is paid and received by ONGC, the application is considered submitted successfully.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

ONGC prescribes the eligibility criteria for the recruitment through CLAT 2026. It is of utmost importance to meet the minimum requirements laid down by ONGC. The CLAT 2026 eligibility criteria and the ONGC criteria are a bit different. If an applicant is unable to satisfy the eligibility criteria, he/she would not be considered for the further recruitment process.

  • They must be an LLB graduate. The aspirant must possess either a 3-year LLB or a 5-year integrated LLB degree.
  • The LLB ought to be from an institution or university approved by the BCI (Bar Council of India) .
  • The applicant must secure at least an aggregate of 60% marks in the qualifying examination. 5% relaxation is provided to those under SC/ST/PWD. They can apply with aggregate marks of 55% marks. The details have been mentioned in the below table.

  • If you have passed the degree through Distance/ Part-Time/ Open/ Correspondence programmes, he/she is not eligible for ONGC recruitment through CLAT 2026.
  • If applicants have a work experience of a minimum of 3 years, they would be given preference during the recruitment process.
  • The applicants should take note that the maximum age limit for the recruitment is 30 years as of 1st January 2025. Reserved category students are provided with relaxation as displayed below.

ONGC Recruitment through CLAT 2026 Cutoff

Cutoff is the minimum marks one must score to get through the next round of the ONGC recruitment through CLAT. ONGC will release the cutoff only after the exam is over.
