TISS BAT is an entrance exam conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Science for admission into undergraduate programs at various institutes. The Tata Institute of Social Science has issued a notification regarding TISS BAT (Tata Institute of Social Science Bachelors Admission Test) 2020. TISS BAT 2020 will be conducted on August 9, 2020, in online mode, i.e. computer test from home due to COVID-19. TISS BAT exam pattern has also changed and now the students will have to answer 40 MCQs in 45 minutes. TISS BAT (Online) Exam Requirements

Given below are certain requirements which students need to adhere to appear for TISS BAT online:

  • Have a personal laptop or desktop computer with a microphone and video camera
  • Latest Google chrome internet browser
  • Test the webcam before the exam begins
  • Internet connection speed should be at least 512 KBs

TISS BAT Eligibility Criteria 2020

Before filling the application form for TISS BAT 2020, students are advised to go through the eligibility criteria fo the exam. For being eligible to appear in TISS BAT, 2020, the student needs to fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • The student must have passed his/her 12th or an equivalent degree from any recognised board/school.

  • The student who is appearing for the intermediate exam or is waiting for the result can also apply for the exam. However, the student will have to show the results at the time of the final selection process.

  • The upper age limit for applying to TISS BAT is 20 years for General and OBC categorised students and 23 years for SC/ST categorised students. The Date of Birth as mentioned in the Secondary Board Education will be only accepted as the proof for age limit by the examination board.

TISS BAT Application Form 2020

The application for TISS BAT 2020 will be done in the online mode. Students are required to read all the instructions and eligibility criteria pertaining to the application before filling the form. The complete application process for TISS BAT 2020 is elaborated in the points below:

  • Ths students will have to fill the application process online by visiting the official website of TISS.

  • Students will have to provide an authentic email id where they will be sent the link to set a password and access the application form. It is advisable for the student to use the same email id throughout the application process.

  • Further, the students will fill the application form with the required details. Students can also fill the form partially to complete it before the last date. However, the students are advised to fill the form at earliest as possible.

  • The students will provide a preferable centre for their examination. Note that the centre will be chosen only once and cannot be changed later.

  • The students will have to pay the application fee of INR 1025 for General and OBC category students and INR 500 for SC/ST category students. However, the SC/ST candidates having family income as less than 2.5 LPA and NC/OBC candidates having family income less than 1.2 LPA will have to pay INR 250 as the application fee.

  • The application fee can be paid either through cash or online process. Students who are willing to pay through cash will have to download the payment challan from the “Download Challan” link and deposit the money to any State Bank of India Branch.

  • Students will have to download the application form and receipt for future references.

Note: The application form submitted after the due date or incomplete information will be rejected by the examination board. Also, the photograph to be uploaded for the admit card should be recent, and its size should not exceed 2 MB.

TISS BAT admit card 2020 can be downloaded by the students through the following process:

  • Students will have to visit the official page of TISS and click on the ‘Admissions’ link.

  • On the page, the link for the Admit Card will be flashed on which the student will have to click.

  • After logging in with the username and password, students will get the link for ‘view the admit card’.

  • Students can download the admit card from the link and keep it for future references.

TISS BAT Exam Pattern 2020

The exam pattern of TISS BAT for the August 2, 2020 exam has been changed. Instead of answering questions in 90 minutes, test-takers will now have to answer 40 MCQs in 45 minutes. TISS BAT exam pattern and marking scheme are mentioned below:

TISS BAT Selection Process 2020

After qualifying the TISS BAT test, students will be called for the counselling process. The students who have applied for the B.A. in Social Science will be called for the counselling process based on the rank list. If the seats remain vacant, a waitlist for the students will be released for which the counselling will be done in subsequent weeks.

On the other hand, the qualified students who have applied for B.A. in Social Work will go for the personal interview first. The students will be given a score out of 50 based on their performance in the interview. Combining the interview and the TISS BAT score, the final selection list for the students will be released. Qualified students can pay a certain amount for booking their seats in the preferable campus.
