What will be the age criteria for getting admission in NEST 2016? <p>The candidate should be born on or before&nbsp;15 July, 1995. &nbsp;(5 year relaxation for SC/ST/PD candidates)</p>

What is the required educational qualification for NEST 2016? <p>(For both in percentage &amp; grade) 1. Candidates with a minimum of 60% marks (General OBC category) and 55% marks (SC/ST/PD category) in 10+2 exam from a recognized Board in India are qualified for the NEST 2016. 2. If a grade system is followed in a particular board the students must provide a certificate from the Board specifying its equivalent percentage or else the decision of admission committees will be final</p>

My year of passing in 10+2 is 2014.Is it possible for me to get admission in NEST 2016? <p>Yes. The candidates who qualified in their 10+2 in&nbsp;2015, 2014&nbsp;and the students going to appear in&nbsp;2016are also eligible to get admission.</p>

Where can I get admission by appearing NEST 2016? <p>You can get admission either in 1. National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar or 2. University of Mumbai &ndash; Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS).</p>

How many seats are allotted in NISER and CBS for the academic session 2016-17? <p>NISER:&nbsp;100 +2 seats CBS:&nbsp;45+2 seats 2 seats from both the institution are reserved for the candidates from J&amp;K state.</p>

What will be the pattern of NEST 2016? <p>The exam is of&nbsp;3 hours 30 minutes&nbsp;duration. NEST 2016 consists of a single question paper comprising 5 sections. Section 1 is the General section with 18 questions. Sections 2 to 5 are for the subjects Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics respectively with 14 questions in each. i.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Section- 1 Mandatory for all ii.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Section 2 to 5 &ndash; Student can answer 3 sections (Out of 4 sections)&nbsp;(OR) Students can answer all sections in which best three will be considered All section is of objective type (MCQ) carrying 60 marks in each.</p>

Is there any choice available to select the question paper language in NEST 2016? <p>No. You don&rsquo;t have any choice. The question paper will be available only in English language.</p>

Is there any negative marking in NEST 2016? <p>Except the General Section all subjects in the Subject Section will have negative marks for wrong answer.</p>

How to apply for NEST 2016? <p>The candidates can apply either through Online or Offline. To apply Online&nbsp;the candidate should visit the official website of NEST at&nbsp;www.nestexam.in To apply offline&nbsp;the candidate can collect the application form from the NEST office on payment.</p>

I like to apply through online mode. Is it necessary to register with a mail-id for that? <p>Yes. As the mail comprise of a link, to confirm your mail id will be send to the registered id only. Hence you should use your personal mail id.</p>
