What is the required educational qualification for NEST 2016? (For both in percentage & grade) 1. Where can I get admission by appearing NEST 2016? You can get admission either in 1. National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar or 2. University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS).
How many seats are allotted in NISER and CBS for the academic session 2016-17? NISER: 100 +2 seats CBS: 45+2 seats 2 seats from both the institution are reserved for the candidates from J&K state.
What will be the pattern of NEST 2016? The exam is of 3 hours 30 minutes duration. NEST 2016 consists of a single question paper comprising 5 sections. Section 1 is the General section with 18 questions. Sections 2 to 5 are for the subjects Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics respectively with 14 questions in each. i. Section- 1 Mandatory for all ii. Section 2 to 5 – Student can answer 3 sections (Out of 4 sections) (OR) Students can answer all sections in which best three will be considered All section is of objective type (MCQ) carrying 60 marks in each.
Is there any choice available to select the question paper language in NEST 2016? No. You don’t have any choice. The question paper will be available only in English language.
Is there any negative marking in NEST 2016? Except the General Section all subjects in the Subject Section will have negative marks for wrong answer.
How to apply for NEST 2016? The candidates can apply either through Online or Offline. To apply Online the candidate should visit the official website of NEST at www.nestexam.in To apply offline the candidate can collect the application form from the NEST office on payment.
I like to apply through online mode. Is it necessary to register with a mail-id for that? Yes. As the mail comprise of a link, to confirm your mail id will be send to the registered id only. Hence you should use your personal mail id.
