CUET Passing Marks 2025: Know minimum qualifying marks and percentile

CUET Passing Marks 2025: CUET UG Result 2025 has been released on July 04, 2025 by NTA on its official website, cuet.nta.nic.in. You can download CUET Results 2025 by entering your date of birth and application number. CUET UG 2025 exam has been successfully administered in CBT mode from May 13 to June 03. 2025. Using the result, you can calculate your CUET score and check for the CUET Passing Marks 2025 here. Though there are no fixed CUET minimum qualifying marks as CUET passing marks 2025 will be released by accepting universities; however, a total score of 500-600 is required in CUET 2025 to be eligible for admission. In addition to the 12th board examination, students must have performed well in CUET 2025 exam to get admission to India's top colleges.

CUET passing marks for the general and OBC categories are expected to range between 600 and 650. And, the minimum passing scores for CUET Section I - Language in both A and B will be 100 to 110. Lastly, the Passing Section II - Domain-Specific Subjects of CUET requires a score of at least 150.

If you want to qualify for CUET 2025 and get admitted to your desired course/ college/ university, it is important to score well in the examination. You must secure CUET minimum qualifying marks between 500-600 marks in CUET 2025.

  • The minimum CUET 2025 passing marks for Section I - Language will be around 100 to 110 for each A and B.
  • CUET passing marks 2025 for Section II - Domain-Specific Subjects will be over 150 marks.
  • CUET passing marks for Section III - General Aptitude Exam will be more than 150 marks.

CUET 2025 Maximum Passing Marks

CUET marking scheme is mandated by NTA. According to CUET exam pattern, you will receive five marks for each correct answer and one mark will be subtracted for each incorrect answer. The NTA sets the maximum scores for each section of CUET. To be granted admission to a desired college, you must secure CUET minimum qualifying marks. CUET 2025 Passing Marks: Section-wise

CUET 2025 has multiple sections including Section I, Section II & Section III. The detailed section-wise CUET passing marks 2025 are captured below:

Section I: Language

  • Sections IA and IB of CUET 2025 allow you to select a maximum of three languages. The questions in this section are designed to evaluate your vocabulary and literary ability. You will be provided with a time of 60 minutes to answer all 50 questions out of 50 questions in the language of your preference.
  • The minimum CUET 2025 passing marks in the language section are around 100-110 each. This implies that for sections IA and IB, you should collectively acquire a total of 200-250 marks. Reserved category students will be provided with a relaxation of 5%.

Section II: Domain-Specific Subjects

  • Apart from the three language options, you can choose up to 5 domain subjects out of a total of 23. You must attempt 50 questions on every domain test to qualify CUET. Every domain is limited to a period of 60 minutes.
  • The maximum mark you can obtain in this section is 250. To qualify for CUET 2025 Domain section, aspirants must score over 150 marks.

Section III: General Aptitude Exam

  • The General Test for CUET will judge your General knowledge, quantitative aptitude, and logical reasoning abilities.
  • You will be provided with an option of 50 questions, out of which you will have to answer 50 questions in 60 minutes.
  • Similar to Section II, you are expected to score at least more than 150 marks to pass this section.

Step 1: Download CUET answer key and response sheet by logging into the official CUET UG portal.

Step 2: Find out how many questions were attempted overall on CUET exam.

Step 3: To find the total number of right and wrong answers, use CUET answer key.

Step 4: To determine the exam's raw score, consult the marking scheme.

Who Determines CUET Cutoff 2025?

All the institutions/ colleges that participate in CUET 2025 determine their individual cut-off scores. To secure admission to their desired institute, students are required to obtain equal or higher than the announced cut-off points to make it to the CUET merit list 2025 . CUET cut-offs for each course and category will be different.

Apart from CUET 2025 passing marks 60% marks in CUET 2025, students should score equal to or over CUET cut off released by the desired university. The participating universities can select whether the CUET UG Cut-off 2025 will be expressed in the form of rankings, CUET passing marks 2025 or a percentile. Only aspirants who satisfy or exceed CUET cut off 2025 marks will be shortlisted for admission.

What is a Normalized Score in CUET?

Normalised score in CUET refers to calculating your scores on the same scale when an exam for a specific subject is administered in multiple shifts. According to CUET 2025 information bulletin, the NTA intends to conduct CUET exams for each subject (including general tests and languages) in a single shift, eliminating the need for a normalisation process. However, if some papers must be completed in multiple shifts due to unavoidable circumstances, the equi-percentile method will be used for normalisation.
