CUET Reservation Policy 2024 is considered by NTA when CUET UG admission is offered at multiple Central, Deemed-to-be, and Private colleges spread across the country. The CUET exam 2024 has reservations based on caste and ability of the candidates. SC - 15%, GEN - 10%, ST - 7.5%, Other Backward Castes - 27%, and Persons with Disabilities - 5%. The reservation policy may differ by university, but most universities adhere to the CUET reservation policy. Candidates applying for CUET need to be well aware of the quota-based admission under the CUET UG 2024 reservation policy. It provides them with a clear picture about the CUET reservation policy 2024 and admission seats available through the exam. CUET offers a varying number of seats based on reservation category. Several universities, including Delhi University and Jamia Millia Islamia, offer quota-based admissions.

The CUET UG 2024 will be conducted from May 15 to May 24, 2024, according to the revised schedule.The CUET 2024 examination timetable has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA). From May 15th to May 24th, 2024, the exam will be conducted for seven days. For the first four days, from May 15th to May 18th, the test papers will be administered in offline mode. Subsequently, from May 21st to May 24th, 48 subjects will be conducted in Computer-Based Testing (CBT).

CUET Reservation Policy 2024 for Central Universities

CUET is accepted by numerous universities in 2024, and some educational institutes also offer Sports quotas, ECA quotas, NCC quotas, and other quotas to candidates under the CUET 2024 reservation policy. In such cases, in addition to the CUET, a performance-based test will be administered. The combined performance and scores of the aspirants will be used to determine their final merit. The weightage of trials and CUET may differ from institute to institute. Provided below is a quick analysis of the weightage offered to CUET and trials at Delhi University:

How to Apply for Quota-based Admission under CUET 2024 Reservation Policy?

Candidates must apply for CUET 2024 quota-based admission while filling out the CUET application form 2024. They are required to select the desired quota under CUET 2024 reservation policy before submitting the form. 

Aspirants do not require any documented proof at this stage. However, they would need to produce relevant and legit supporting documents at the time of admission as well as trials. Without the proof, they will not be considered for quota-based admission under CUET 2024 reservation policy.

CUET 2024 Reservation Policy: Seat Reservation

Generally, the NTA has set the following reservation percentage for different categories under CUET reservation policy 2024. However, several Central Universities also provide reservations to various candidates and it may differ from institute to institute:

CUET 2024 Reservation Policy for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

As per the official exam brochure and CUET reservation policy 2024, only candidates with over 40% disability (specified disability) are eligible for CUCET reservation under PwD category. Here are the list of specified CUET reservation policy 2024 to be considered in order to apply for this category:

Locomotor disabilities including cerebral palsy, dwarfism, leprosy cured, acid attack victims & muscular dystrophy

Deaf and hard of hearing

Autism, specific learning disability, intellectual disability and mental illness

Low vision & Blindness

Multiple Disabilities

Other specified disabilities

CUET 2024 Reservation Policy for Kashmiri Migrants

Kashmiri Migrants are given some of the preferences as well as benefits under the CUET reservation policy 2024. These CUET reservation policy 2024 relaxations may vary from institute to institute. For instance:

  • There is an increase in course-wise seat intake capacity of up to 5%.
  • A relaxation in cut-off per cent up to 10% is given to the candidates. However, this is subject to the minimum eligibility requirement.
  • Waiving off domicile proofs and requirements for migrants belonging to the Kashmir region.
  • Reservation of a minimum of 1 seat in merit quota in professional/ technical institutions.
  • Facilitation of migration in the 2nd year and its subsequent years.

Reserved Category candidates are also provided with a relaxation in the CUET application fee under CUET 2024 reservation policy. A General Category candidate is required to pay an application fee of Rs. 750 while an OBC NCL/ EwS candidate needs to pay an application fee of Rs. 700.
