IIT Bombay Highest Package 2025: Record Placements, Top Recruiters & Salary Trends

The 2025-26 placement season at IIT Bombay began on December 1, 2025, with 42 companies and 98 job offers. According to the media reports, Da Vinci has offered the highest package of the season, which is around Rs. 1.48 Crore. As per IIT-B’s official placement report 2023-24, around 22 students were offered the highest salary package, which was greater than Rs. 1 Crore. The average package statistics was Rs. 23.50 LPA, and this was a 7.7% increase from the previous year. International offers were received from companies based in the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the UAE, and Europe. IIT Bombay Top Recruiters in Placement Session 2023-24

Different recruiters from various industries make their way to IIT Bombay in the placement season. The technology sector was dominated by such companies as Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle, Qualcomm, and Adobe, which have positions in software engineering, AI/ML, and product development.
According to the IIT Bombay Official Placement and Internship Report 2023-24, the Engineering and Technology sector recorded the highest number of offers of 106 companies at the top of the recruitment. Some of the companies were Boeing, Texas Instruments, Bosch and Hitachi based on the core engineering, R&D and technical services functions.
Finance and Consulting firms like JPMorgan Chase, ICICI bank, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, PwC, McKinsey and Barclays came for the jobs in quantitative analysis, investment banking, and consulting sector.
The other top recruiters were powerhouses in manufacturing like Godrej, Reliance, Pfizer, Michelin, Honeywell and Halliburton and new domains like fintech, analytics and operations. Other firms that were highly active were Britannia, L'Oréal, Cipla, Air India and Tata communications.

IIT Bombay Salary Trends and Sector-Wise Analysis

The dynamics of salary in IIT Bombay indicates how the industry and the economy needs to be changed. The median of 17.92 LPA is a good approximation of the offer that can be expected with the lowest and highest being 4 LPA and over 1 crore respectively. This goes a long way to show the diversity of opportunities that is present within the industry.

According to the statistics the increase in the IIT Bombay and B.tech Packages were steady from Rs.21.50 LPA in 2022 to Rs.23.50 LPA in 2024 and was stable in 2025. But a significant change was observed in the number of students being registered and the participating students, depicting a development of interest in the placement process. The recruiters were seen to be confident even though the number of participating students have increased significantly.
The performance of the sectors were very different with the first position being secured by Engineering and Technology which received 430 placements. The remaining industries, like IT/Software, won 307 offers, Finance 80 placements, Consulting 65 placements and R&D 19 placements. The average salary had recorded a consistent increment of 5.6 LPA in 2021 that was already 17.91LPA, and 21.82 LPA in 2023.
Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) were also on the pickup as per the IIT Bombay official placement and internship report 2023-24 with 258 of the 300 PPOs offered being accepted giving the students some level of placement security well ahead of the actual placements.
