What After INI CET 2026 Result?

After giving the INI CET exam , the waiting period for results can feel quite long. After the results are announced, it becomes a real rush to fulfil several important steps. From the time results are declared to actual admission, the whole process is filled with counselling, choice filling, and seat allotment. Let me break down everything that happens next in a very simple manner for you.

Understanding Your Result and Scorecard

Once the results are out, you will not only get your marks but also a percentile score, which basically tells you how you performed compared to all the rest of the students who appeared in other exams. You have to log in to the official AIIMS website with your credentials to check your result and download your scorecard. This scorecard is important as it contains your roll number and category, and percentile, All India rank, and category rank. Keep multiple copies of this scorecard because you will require it during counselling.

Now, here's the thing about qualifying - one must score at least a 50th percentile if in the General/EWS category and a 45th percentile if in the OBC/SC/ST/PwBD category. If you clear this cutoff, congratulations! You can take part in the counselling. If not, do not lose hope; there is always the next attempt, and there is no limit to the number of attempts you take for INI CET.

The Counselling Process

  • That's where your preparation really pays off. The counselling happens in four rounds-one is the mock and three actual rounds, including an open round. The mock round serves as practice to understand where the whole seat allotment system stands without any real stake involved.
  • This is the first step: registration. You have to register online on the AIIMS website and fill in your personal details, academic information, and the exam details. You will receive a new counselling ID and password. Type these down carefully, as you will require them throughout.
  • Next comes choice filling, which is perhaps the most important step. You can select as many universities and streams as you want, and you can change your choices until the deadline. It is my advice not to keep it for the last day. Server problems are real, and you don't want to lose out due to internet issues. After the deadline, your choices are automatically locked and cannot be tampered with..
  • Give weightage to the thoughtful selection of options and write your dream college and designation on the top but be practical too. Check the cutoffs of previous years for a variety of institutes and courses. Do not fill in your options randomly; rather, order them based on your merit list ranking and preferences.

Seat Allotment and Reporting

  • The allotment of seats is carried out based on your INI CET rank, the choices you filled up, availability of seats, and reservation criteria. Once the allotment result comes out, you will be able to see which college and course you have been allotted. You can now accept the seat and not participate in the further rounds, accept it but still go for the next rounds for upgradation, or reject it and try for the next round.
  • In case of being allotted a seat, a candidate is to report to the specified institute for verification of original documents. The candidate must carry their admit card, MBBS/BDS degree certificate, mark sheets, internship completion certificate, medical registration certificate, Class 10 and 12 certificates, a category certificate if applicable, and passport-sized photographs. The candidate must also keep the entire set of documents organised in a folder, along with photocopies of all documents. In the absence of any one of the original documents, a candidate could face difficulties in the admission process.
  • After the seat allotment results, reporting is usually performed within 5-6 days. Do not delay since missing the deadline could result in the cancellation of your seat.

Keep Your Focus On

While waiting for results and during counselling, don't just sit idle. If you are planning to take NEET PG and other exams, then continue preparing. Many students take this opportunity to revise or work on their weak topics. Join student groups or forums with other INI CET applicants for information - this helps you stay updated about any last-minute changes or important announcements.

AIIMS does not miss any updates on their website, so it is fruitful to visit the website regularly. There may sometimes be a change in dates, or new notifications may come up. You do not want to miss anything important. For important dates such as choice-filling deadlines and reporting dates, set reminders on your phone.

Remember, thousands of students go through this every year, and you'll get through it too. All the best for your counselling and future medical career!
