How JEE Main rank is determined?

The NTA calculates the JEE Main ranks of all the candidates participating in the examination. The rank of each candidate is calculated by the following formula.

  • The score is transformed into a percentile, which means the candidate's raw marks are converted into a percentile.
  • This is accomplished by computing the session's highest scores. The highest marks are given a score of 100. And the remainder of the candidates' grades is adjusted correspondingly.
  • The percentile score is calculated to seven decimal places, allowing each contender to have a unique ranking. This is done to ensure that there are no ties amongst the candidates.
