After the first round of
JoSAA counselling 2025
is successfully over, and in case you've been allotted a seat, you are required to download the JoSAA provisional seat allotment letter and pay the requisite seat acceptance fee. You'll then need to report at the nearest reporting centre for the verification of the
list of documents required for JoSAA counselling 2025
and to select whether to freeze, slide, or float your seat. If you are not allotted a seat in the first round, you don't need to reapply for the JoSAA second round. Check out the steps to be followed after JoSAA Round 1 in the following sections.

What to do After JoSAA Round 1?
After the JoSAA Round 1 seat allotment result is announced, candidates are provided with three options-
- Freeze - You have to select this option if you are content with the seat which has been allocated and decide not to participate in any further JoSAA counselling sessions in 2025
- Float - Select this option if you are happy with your current seat but would like to be considered for other institutes in the future rounds of the JoSAA seat distribution
- Slide -Choose this option if you accept the allocated seat but are also open to being enrolled in a better-preferred course at the same institute. You must be cautious when selecting the option, as it is a major aspect of the entire JoSAA counselling process 2025.

Accept The Seat
If you are satisfied with the current seat, institute, and course which has been allotted to you, then you should choose to freeze and accept the seat. By doing so, you are officially out of the further JoSAA counselling process. You will be provided admission into the college which you have been allotted after paying the requisite fees and getting the documents verified. Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies of the necessary documents as per the guidelines prescribed on the JoSAA portal after accepting the seats.You will be required to produce all the documents as original hard copies when you report at the college for the document verification process.
Pay the Seat Acceptance fee
The immediate step to follow after accepting or freezing the allotted seat is to pay the JoSAA seat acceptance fees. You are required to use an e-challan or SBI Net Banking to pay the JoSAA seat acceptance fee. You will only have to pay the JoSAA seat acceptance fees, which will be deducted from the admission fee since each institute has a different admission fee.

Reporting And Document Verification
After completing the document uploading process, you should report at the reporting centre as per the specified date without failure along with the original documents. It is suggested to keep all the necessary documents ready before reporting.
Dual Reporting for Document Verification
- If you select the float option while accepting a seat in an IIT in one round and an NIT/IIIT/GFTI in the subsequent round, you will be asked to visit the institute again for document verification.
- You should return to the institute for the document verification if you are offered a seat in an IIEST, NIT, IIIT (Triple-I-T), or Other-GFTI in one round and an IIT in a further round.
- You will not be accepted for the reserved seats if you do not show up again for the document verification. Also, you will not be permitted to participate in any additional rounds of seat allocation.
If you have not chosen freeze or float as your option, then you can select the slide option to upgrade your course. By doing so you will have to report and complete both online and offline reporting and wait for a course upgrade in the further rounds of allotment.
