Total NLU Seats in India

CLAT is an important law entrance exam in India through which candidates get admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. On the basis of the CLAT 2024 score, candidates are offered admission to NLUs and other institutes/ colleges accepting CLAT scores. National Law Universities (NLUs) have a seat reservation system for candidates falling under various categories. Every NLU has separate CLAT reservation policies and after the release of the CLAT result, the CLAT seat allotment or counselling process of the university will be considered.

CLAT Results 2024 will be declared by the Consortium of the NLUs on December 2023. The exam was conducted on December 3, 2023. Now that the result has been published, CLAT 2024 cutoff will soon be released and NLUs will conduct their counselling processes in order to provide admission to the eligible candidates.

Categories for Reservation of Seats at NLUs

The seat matrix for DNLU Jabalpur, TNNLU Tiruchirappalli, RMLNLU, and RGNUL has been changed from 2024. As per the revised seat matrix, there is an All India OBC Category now for both the UG degrees and PG degrees at Tamilnadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli.

With the CLAT 2024 Result, you can also take a look at the Gender-wise pass percentage. CLAT 2024 Toppers List has been released and test-takers can take a look at it.

In addition to Madhya Pradesh, a new category of All India EWS has been added for DNLU Jabalpur. Meanwhile, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, has added a new Backward Category of Punjab for the UG programme.

Listed ahead are the domains that fall under the reservation category. Candidates need to take a look at the list in order to adhere to the reservation policies of the NLUs.

Important Information regarding CLAT 2024 Seat

Candidates who will be appearing in CLAT should check out some essential information regarding the CLAT 2024 seat.

  • Candidates will be allotted seats in different NLUs in five rounds of the counselling process.
  • After a candidate has been allotted a seat in an NLU, he/ she needs to submit the counselling fee of INR 30,000 to lock their seat at the NLU.
  • Aspirants who will not deposit the counselling fee will lose their seat from the respective NLU and the university will withdraw their name from the merit list of CLAT 2024.
  • Candidates should know beforehand that the counselling fee is non-refundable. Hence, candidates who want to withdraw their names from the NLU allotted list will not get a refund of the counselling fee.
  • On the other hand, the test-takers whose names are on the waiting list but did not get a seat due to the unavailability of vacant seats will get their deposited counselling fee refunded.
  • After completing the final allocation of seats, candidates need to report to the respective NLU and complete the admission formalities by paying the rest of the fees and submitting the required documents to complete the admission process.

NLU Seat Break-up for UG & PG Courses
