Eligibility for counselling

Before you can enter the counselling process, you must satisfy preliminary eligibility:

• Qualify the KLUMeet required academic criteria (e.g., Intermediate/IPE percentage, etc.). For example: rank ranges 1-30,000 & IPE 80% & above; for other rank categories lower percentages.EEE exam (ranked/score as per university cut-off).
• If you are applying via JEE Main/EAMCET scores (if applicable) or other qualifying routes, follow those guidelines.

Online Registration

• Qualified candidates need to register for counselling on the official KLU portal.
• Provide personal details, contact info, exam details (rank/score), and academic credentials.
• Pay any counselling registration fee (if applicable).

Document Verification

After registration, you’ll have to present/submit original + photocopies of required documents. Some may be online/scan copies if the process is virtual.

Choice‐Filling

• Once verified, you’ll get the option to fill in your preferred “branches” (engineering specialisations) and campuses
• You should prioritise based on what you want, your rank, branch demand, future prospects. Setting preferences carefully improves your chance of getting a good seat.

Seat Allotment

• Based on your rank, category, the preferences you submitted, and availability of seats in each branch/campus, the university will allot a seat.
• The allotment result will be published (online) and you’ll need to download your allotment letter.

Seat Acceptance & Reporting

• Once a seat is allotted, you must accept the seat — usually by paying a “seat acceptance” fee or first term/semester fees. If you fail to do so by the deadline, the seat may be forfeited.
• Then you must report in person or online (as per instructions) to the allotted campus/department with documents and proof of payment for admission formalities.
• Some rounds may allow “upgrade” options (if you want to try for a better branch/campus) or “re‐allotment” in subsequent rounds. (Check if KLU has multiple rounds).
