IIT Roorkee is going to conduct the GATE exam 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 but the paper-wise exam dates are yet to be confirmed. The last date to apply for
GATE 2025
with a late fee has been extended to October 11, 2024. The application submission for non late fee fee was closed on October 3, 2024. Candidates who have completed graduation or are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are eligible to fill out the GATE 2025 application form. The GATE score of 2025 will be valid for 3 years for taking admission to M.Tech courses or applying for PSU recruitment. Various PSUs will start releasing application forms for which eligible candidates are recruited using a valid GATE score. The mode of the GATE 2025 exam is online, and the total number of test papers is 30.
The GATE exam in full form is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually by one of the seven IITs for admission to Postgraduate or Master’s degree programs in Engineering, Architecture, Science, Technology, and Humanities. IIT Roorkee has added 10 new cities to the GATE exam centres 2025 list. The authorities might release a new two-paper combination on its official website.
GATE 2025 Exam Dates
Like every year, the GATE exam 2025 will be conducted in the first and second weekend of February. The paper-wise exam schedule will be out soon. The entrance examination will be held in two shifts across multiple cities in India and abroad. GATE 2025 Application Form
GATE registrations 2025 with late fees have been extended to October 11, 2024. The registration process for GATE is conducted through online mode, i.e., GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) portal. Candidates can get an overview of the GATE 2025 application process below.Step 1: Online Registration through GOAPS
Candidates must first register through the GOAPS 2025 portal by entering their full name, valid email ID, mobile number, country of residence etc.
They must choose a unique password for future login. A system-generate OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to the registered mobile number and email address for verification.
Candidates must use the same to complete the registration process and get their unique GATE enrollment ID.
Step 2: Login and Application Form Fill Out
Registered candidates can log in with their ID and password to access the GATE application form 2025. They must fill in personal details, such as father’s name, mother’s name, nationality, date of birth, permanent address, photo ID number and type etc. along with educational qualifications, marks and grades obtained from 10+2 till Graduation.
Next, applicants must select the desired GATE 2025 paper they wish to opt for and choose up to three GATE exam centres 2025 from the list provided. The test centres must be selected in order of preference. The first two exam centres must be selected from the same zone while the third one can be from any regional zones.
Step 3: Uploading of Documents
The next step of the GATE 2025 application process involves uploading scanned images of the candidate’s recent passport photograph and signature along with relevant certificates. After uploading the necessary documents, candidates must proceed to pay the GATE application fee 2025 via online mode. The fee amount varies according to the candidate’s category and can be paid using Net banking/ Debit card/ Credit card facilities. Candidates who want to appear for the GATE 2025 exam must satisfy the following GATE eligibility criteria laid down in the information brochure by the conducting authority.Candidates who have passed or are currently in the 3rd year of their Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Architecture/ Science/ Technology/ Humanities from a recognized university. Those with a Master’s degree in a relevant subject in the field of Science are also eligible to apply for GATE 2025.
Candidates with Indian citizenship or those from foreign countries including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and The United Arab Emirates are eligible to sit for the GATE exam 2025.

GATE 2025 Exam Pattern
The GATE 2025 exam paper is similar to the previous years. The authority has not introduced any major changes to the existing exam format. According to the GATE exam pattern 2025, the paper will have 65 questions worth a total of 100 marks. Of these questions, 10 questions will be based on General Aptitude carrying 15 marks.Furthermore, the GATE 2025 exam will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in online mode for 3 hours. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions will majorly be asked from the syllabus of GATE 2025.
