IIT Kharagpur offers the ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Programme) course for the 4-year Integrated B.Sc B.Ed (Secondary Stage) programme. The IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 is based on the score received by students in the NCET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The IIT Kharagpur Round 4 ITEP admission list was released on July 11, 2025. The last date to submit the seat confirmation fee was July 13. Admission to the course will be based on total scores gained by a candidate in all 7 subjects (Languages 1 and 2, Teaching Aptitude, General Test, and three relevant Domain-specific Subjects) in the NCET exam 2025. The IIT Kharagpur Round 1 ITEP admission list, originally scheduled for July 2, got delayed and was released on July 3, 2025.  The merit lists are released on the official website of IIT Kharagpur in a PDF format. The NTA released the NCET result on June 16, 2025. After the release of the results, the institute opened its portal for online application for IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 from June 24 to June 30, 2025. The last date to complete the 4th round admission was July 13.

4 rounds of IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission merit list will be released one by one. Students need to check their names and start booking their seats.

The application for IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 must be submitted online through the official portal, erp.iitkgp.ac.in/IITKGPApplications/. To apply for the B.Sc B.Ed programme at IIT Kharagpur, your name must be on the NCET 2025 result list. Based on the required Test Paper(s) (Domain-specific), you can apply to one or more Disciplinary Majors under the B.Sc B.Ed course , subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility requirements of IIT Kharagpur.

IIT Kharagpur ITEP Admission 2025

After you have filled in the counselling application form for ITEP, you will be considered for admission only to the Disciplinary Major according to your choices filled in the application form. The IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 will include four rounds of counselling; however, additional rounds may be held if there are vacant seats. If you receive an offer in one of the 3 rounds of counselling, you need to choose one option among:

1. Accept and Freeze
2. Accept with Upgrade
3. Reject and Quit

• Selecting the ‘Accept and Freeze’ option means you have accepted the seat that has been offered to you and will not upgrade to better options in the next rounds of counselling.
• If you select ‘Accept with Upgrade’, you have temporarily accepted the seat that has been offered to you, but you want to upgrade to better options in the next counselling rounds.
• When you select ‘Reject and Quit’, you have rejected the offered seat and will not participate in the IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 further. The seat offered to you will also be cancelled, and you cannot participate in the counselling session any more.
• If a candidate does not select any one of the above three options at the end of any counselling round, his/ her candidature will automatically be rejected.

Those selecting "Accept and Freeze” or “Accept with Upgrade" will be redirected to an online payment portal. They have to pay the seat booking fee before the last date.

• The names of students will appear in the IIT Kharagpur ITEP 1st Admission list based on the order of their preferences submitted in the application form and their score in the merit list. The applicants need to visit the official website to check the status of their application.
• Those who will be offered seats in the 1st list need to log in to the candidate portal and select one of the 3 options as mentioned above before the last date.
• Once the first round of admission is over, if there are vacant seats, the 2nd Admission List will be released. Students who have opted for ‘Accept and Upgrade’ in the previous round are required to log in to the website and view their current seat allocation.
• If your name appears on the 2nd list, you need to visit the portal and select one of the three options.
• A 3rd ITEP Admission List will be released if there are vacant seats after the second round of admission. Those who have selected ‘Accept and Upgrade’ in the 2nd round can check their seat allocation.
• Candidates who are offered seats in the 3rd list should choose Accept, Upgrade or Exit.
• If more vacant seats are available, the institute will release the 4th Admission List. Those who have opted for ‘Accept and Upgrade’ in the previous round need to check their seat allocation on the website.
• Those who have been offered seats in the fourth list should choose Accept, Upgrade or Exit.
• Candidates can also select ‘Cancel’ if they do not like their allotted seats by logging into the portal and selecting ‘Withdraw’. They can only exercise this option till the third round of counselling. They will get back the seat booking fee after a processing fee of Rs. 1,000 is deducted.
• You can download the ITEP offer letter from the institution from the candidate portal after the final round of admission. You will then need to visit IIT Kharagpur along with the necessary documents as mentioned in the offer letter.

The IIT Kharagpur ITEP selection process is based on the score secured by students in the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) conducted by the NTA. You must have attempted all 7 NCET components (two languages, teaching aptitude, general test, and the three domain subjects). Students are assigned disciplinary majors based on their NCET scores and preferences submitted during the online counselling process. IIT Kharagpur ITEP Eligibility Criteria 2025

You can only participate in the IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 if you have passed the NCET 2025 exam with a valid score. There are some more eligibility requirements and minimum educational qualifications that should be met. Read in detail about the IIT Kharagpur ITEP eligibility:

• The applicant needs to pass Class 12th in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subject combination.
• Securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent is necessary in the Class 12th exam.
• You must have also appeared for the entrance test in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the domain subjects in the NCET conducted by the NTA.
• Your Class 12th mark sheet and certificate need to be submitted at the time of the ITEP application. Original documents must be provided to IIT Kharagpur at the time of admission.
• Foreign nationals with an Indian education can apply for ITEP, subject to the policy of IIT Kharagpur.
• The applicant must have appeared in the Class 12th or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
• If the Class 12th result for the academic year 2022-23 was declared by the examination board on or after June 28, 2023, the candidates of that board who appeared in the 12th exam are also eligible to apply for IIT Kharagpur ITEP admission 2025 only if they meet all the eligibility requirements.
• However, if the board of exams declared the Class 12th result for the academic year 2022-23 before June 28, 2023, but for some reason, the result of the candidate was withheld, then he/ she cannot participate in the ITEP 2025 admission process.
• The student must have been born on or after October 1, 2000. The students belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories will get a 5-year age relaxation, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.
