Karnataka NEET 2023 counselling process will tentatively begin by the end of July. Following the declaration of NEET 2023 results by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 13, candidates can anticipate the upcoming official notification for Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2023 on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Once the KEA NEET UG 2023 counselling schedule is released, the initial step will involve candidates applying for counselling through an online application form. Subsequently, a merit list will be published, consisting of the names of eligible candidates for Karnataka NEET 2023 counselling. These eligible candidates will also need to undergo the document verification process, which will be conducted at various centres. Things to remember for Karnataka Medical Admissions 2023

The Karnataka Examination Authority is responsible for conducting the counselling for 85% state quota MBBS and BDS seats. The eligibility is decided according to the directions by the government and seats are allotted according to the rank secured.

The results of UGCNEET-2023 are considered while determining the merit list for medical admissions in Karnataka . This ensues after the verification of documents.

Candidates whose documents are not verified

Candidates wishing to participate in the counselling process for KEA UGNEET-2023 should register and get their documents verified mandatorily from the KEA, Bangalore.

Candidates who have not registered for UG CET 2023

Candidates who did not register for UGCET 2023 and have qualified UGNEET 2023 have to first register through the KEA website and appear for verification of documents.

Candidates who could not get a rank in CET-2023

Those candidates who could not secure a rank in CET 2023 counselling after registering and paying the registration fee may appear for verification of documents according to the schedule if they have qualified for the UGNEET 2023 and wish to take admission into MBBS, MBBS, and AYUSH courses.

Students who have already verified their documents

  • Candidates who got their documents verified for CET 2023 after registration will have to enter their correct UGNEET 2023 Roll No. on the KEA web portal from 2.00 PM on 13 December 2023 to 17 December 2023 up to 11.59 PM to claim eligibility to get admission to medical courses across Karnataka.
  • They need not pay the registration fee again.
  • It is highly recommended to check the NEET Roll No. on the printed application form after entering the UGNEET 2023.

Candidates who have been assigned ranks in CET 2023

  • Candidates who secured a Rank at UGCET 2023 and got their documents verified through KEA and do not wish to claim any additional reservation need not participate again o get the documents verified.
  • They need to download the UGNEET 2023 verification slip to claim admission to medical courses in Karnataka from the KEA website on the scheduled dates.

Candidates who have been assigned ranks in CET 2023 claim reservation

  • If such candidate wished to claim reservation as per the norms of the state government or Linguistic Minority or Religious Minority or NRI ward seats or candidates eligible to claim seats under Category-2 to Category-8 in St. John Medical College, Bangalore, they have to register once again.
  • Such candidates shall fill the online application form and appear for document verification with requisite certificates.
  • They have to appear again for the verification process if they wish to claim a reservation in Linguistic Minority /Religious Minority / NRI WARD along with their original documents.

What kind of documents shall you take for verification?

The candidates who have qualified for UGNEET 2023 have to get their original documents verified through KEA to claim eligibility for taking admission in medical colleges across Karnataka. This will enable them to become eligible for ‘Option Entry’ for the choice of allotment of Medical / Dental seat.

At what time should you reach KEA for verification?

The candidates should check their rank ranges and the date and time slot allotted for respective rank ranges before appearing for document verification. The candidates shall bring original and one attested photocopy.

What happens when the candidate fails to produce any document?

If the candidates fail to produce any documents, their registration process will not get complete and they will not be able to exercise the Option Entry.

What after Registration?

The candidates shall proceed to the verification counter where their submissions are verified against the data they provided while filling the application forms. After verification, the KEA will return the original documents and will retain the photocopied and attested sets of the documents. An acknowledgement cum verification slip will be issued to the candidates.

What is Verification Slip?

The KEA will issue a verification slip to all the candidates who are through with the process containing details of the applicant, documents submitted, rank, caste category, discipline, etc. If there are any changes in the submitted documents and the data provided online, they should be highlighted with the verifying officer.

Secret Key

The candidate who successfully verifies their documents and gets their registration completed will be issued a high security ‘ Secret Key’. The candidates are required to use this to register and create a password for login at the online option entry portal.

It should not be revealed to anyone to avoid any tampering. The KEA gives high importance to this security key. Password thus created will be used for the candidate’s login, exercising entry of options, change of options, and printing the allotment details.
