Quick View of the Placements at IITs in 2016

IIT Placements 2016 seem to have changed the landscape of on-campus hiring. With more than 30 startups and e-commerce firms banned, the institutes needed a serious backup strategy to maintain the placement graph. Despite calling the PSUs and other such organizations in the prime slots, IITs seem to be struggling with offers and packages.

There has been some serious depreciation in the number of domestic as well as international offers in 2016. Although some decent offers were rolled out, placements 2016 have seen major dips in packages.

International Offers:

Students at the premier institutes have reported that this year’s placements have witnessed a fall in international offers. It has been estimated that international offers have fallen between 18% and 77%. Placement cell officials informed that only the base salary component is considered in this analysis.

The annual package did go up in 2016 but the domestic offers at IITs have gone done by a huge margin. Samsung, Microsoft and Oracle have been some of the most rigorous recruiters of 2016 that not only rolled out more opportunities but also offered great salaries. Other highest recruiters of 2016 were Yahoo, Uber and NEC Corporation. Following are some of the companies that have outshined the rest at IIT Placements 2016 with maximum offers:

The number of offers made by some organizations was less as compared to that in 2015. Last year Goldman Sachs hired 23 students, Dar Al Handasah Consultants recruited 19, Microsoft took 20 and Shiksha O Anusandhan University picked 17.
