Maharashtra DSE (Direct Second-Year Engineering) Admission 2020: Every year, the CAP process is conducted by the State Common Entrance Cell, Government of Maharashtra. Through the DSE CAP process, the candidates are provided with admission to 2nd-year B.E./ B.Tech program at various Government, Government Aided, University Departments, University Managed, and Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions. How is Merit List Prepared for Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020?

The merit list for Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the Diploma or the respective qualifying degree exam. Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in their qualifying exam, each candidate will be provided with a merit number which will be mentioned on the merit list. The admission authority will release a provisional merit list first. If any candidates find an error in the merit list or if the qualifying marks have been modified, the candidates can raise an objection. After cross-checking, the final merit list will be released. 

Tie Breaking Policy

It might be possible that two or more candidates have the same qualifying marks which can lead to the same merit number. To resolve this issue, the admission committee decides the final merit of the candidates through the following tie-breaking policy:

  • Higher overall percentage in SSC Exam.

  • Higher percentage in Maths Exam at SSC Level.

  • Higher percentage in Science Exam at SSC Level.

  • Higher percentage in English Exam at SSC Level.

Maharashtra DSE Admission Registration 2020

All the candidates who wish to take admission to the 2nd year of B.E./ B.Tech through the Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 will have to register online for the CAP process. Only the candidates who have registered for the Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 will be applicable for attending the CAP counseling. The candidates will also have to pay a counseling fee at the time of registration for the counseling which will be non-refundable.

  2. On the homepage of the website, locate and click on the link to apply online.

  5. Click on the submit button.

Maharashtra DSE Admission Reservation Policy 2020

As per the Government of Maharashtra, there is a certain seat reservation granted to the minority class candidates. However, the reservation policy is applicable for only the reserved candidates who have domicile of Maharashtra state. All other candidates will be considered as the Genera;/ unreserved category candidates.

Maharashtra DSE Admission CAP Counselling 2020

The admission to second year B.E/ B.Tech through Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 will be done via the Common Admission Process (CAP) Counselling. All the candidates who have their names on the merit list will have to attend the CAP process where the seats will be allotted for admission. The seat allocation will be done on the basis of the merit number allotted to the candidates in the merit list.

The Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 CAP Counselling will go through various stages. It is compulsory for the candidates to attend all the stages of the CAP process for admission.

The stage by stage process for Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 CAP process is explained below:

Stage 1: Registration & Fee Payment

The candidates will have to register for the Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020 by filling the application form online. Along with filling the registration form, the candidates will also have to pay an application fee to complete the registration.

Stage 2: Document Verification

After the registration is closed, the list of facilitation centers will be displayed on the official website. The candidates who have registered can visit the respective centers to get their documents verified. It is mandatory for all the candidates to get their documents verified before the final date. After the document verification, the candidates will receive a receipt which they will have to bring at the time of the CAP process.

Stage 3: Release of Provisional Merit List, Grievance Submission, and Release of Final Merit List

Further, the admission department will release the provisional merit list for all the qualifying candidates on the official website. The candidates can also submit the grievance if there has been some modification in their qualifying exam scores. After checking all the grievances, the final merit list will be released. No changes will be made to the final merit list.

Stage 4: Category Wise Seat Matrix Display for Respective CAP Rounds

In the next step, the admission department will release the category wise seat matrix before each CAP round. The seat matrix will constitute the courses & seat intake for all the categories of the candidates. The seat matrix will be useful to the candidates for filling the online option form in the next step.

Stage 5: Online Option Form Filling & Confirmation

The candidates will have to fill the online option form for the choice of courses & colleges in which they wish to get seats through the Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020. The final seat allotment will be done on the basis of options filled by the candidates. The candidates can make up to 300 choices. It is also important for the candidates to submit their choices in the order of priority (first priority college at 1st position and so on). Before the last date, the candidates must submit their option form or it will be automatically submitted as per the last details filled.

Stage 6: CAP Rounds

The seats will be allotted as per the options filled through the CAP round I. The seats allocated to the candidates as per the first priority will be automatically frozen. Such candidates will have to further visit the ARC to accept their seats and they can’t participate in future rounds. 

The candidates who have not been allotted the seat as per their first preference but are still satisfied with the allotment will have to freeze their seats and visit the ARC for seat acceptance.

The candidates who have not been allotted seats as per their first preference and who have accepted the seats at ARC will be allowed to attend the further CAP rounds for the betterment of seats.

Stage 7: Release of Provisional Allotment

After the CAP rounds, the provisional seat allotment will be displayed on the official website. The provisional allotment will showcase the institute & course that has been allotted to the candidate.

Stage 8: Reporting & Seat Acceptance

The candidates who have been allotted seats will have to visit the ARC and accept their seats. Only after accepting the seats at ARC, the candidates will be reporting to the respective institutes for admission.

Stage 9: Reporting to the Institute & Fee Payment

Finally, the candidates will have to report to the institute and pay the admission fee to complete their admission.

The candidates will have to submit the following documents at the time of document verification for Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020. The candidates are required to bring the original copy of the following documents along with 2 photocopies each:

  • Qualifying Exam Mark Sheet/ Certificate

  • Duly Filled Application Form for Maharashtra DSE Admission 2020

  • Character Certificate

  • Transfer Certificate

  • Caste Certificate (If Required)
