Entrance Exams Accepted by MBA Colleges in Uttar Pradesh

Not all MBA colleges in Uttar Pradesh consider national-level management entrance exam scores for admission to the MBA course. NTA conducts UPCET every year for MBA admissions. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) used to conduct the UPCET MBA exam and earlier it was known as the UPSEE exam.

UPCET MBA is a common entrance exam for all the MBA colleges in Uttar Pradesh (except for national-level premier institutes such as IIT Colleges or top IIMs in India. Candidates applying for UPCET MBA need not apply to each college individually. However, candidates with national-level entrance exam scores must apply for each institute that accepts any of the entrance test scores (except UPCET MBA) individually.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA Admissions in Uttar Pradesh 2024

Here are the eligibility criteria for UP MBA Admissions 2024 in detail:

Basic Requirements: Students aspiring to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Uttar Pradesh must note that the minimum qualification required is a Bachelor’s degree from any stream with 50% marks. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will have a 5% relaxation in the marks or percentage. The applicants must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12.

Entrance Exam: For getting admission to the MBA course, the candidates must also have a valid UPCET MBA/ CMAT/ ATMA/ MAT/ CAT score. Candidates with a valid score in any one of the entrance exams are eligible to apply for an MBA in Uttar Pradesh.

Domicile Rules: For the UPCET MBA, only candidates belonging to Uttar Pradesh are eligible to apply. Colleges that accept the national-level entrance exam score apart from the UPCET MBA will reserve seats for candidates belonging to other states. However, the major preference will be given to Uttar Pradesh aspirants.

Uttar Pradesh MBA admissions based on UPCET MBA score has is conducted before the admissions based on national level entrance test scores such as CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT as per the trend. Uttar Pradesh MBA Selection Process 2024

Given below is the selection process for Uttar Pradesh MBA admission 2024:

UPCET MBA 2024 Selection Process: The UPCET MBA exam authority will allocate ranks and marks to the candidates scored in UPCET MBA 2024 exam. These candidates will have to take part in the online counselling process/ centralised admission process. During the counselling process, the candidates must exercise web options. The seat allocation will be based on the candidate’s rank in UPCET MBA 2024, preference in web options, merit and availability of seats in the respective college.

Usually, five rounds of counselling will take place for the MBA course based on USPEE MBA 2024 exam. The candidates who do not secure a seat in the desired college in the first round can take part in subsequent rounds of counselling.

UPCET MBA counselling process has begun.

CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ ATMA Selection Process: The MBA selection process in Uttar Pradesh based on the entrance test score of these exams is completely different. The candidates will have to apply for institutes individually. Some colleges may directly grant admission based on entrance test score while some colleges may conduct GD/ PI/ Written Ability Test (WAT) for final selection.

Direct MBA Admission/ Management Quota Admission: Candidates who do not have an entrance test score are eligible for direct admission through the management quota of the institute. All the private MBA colleges and deemed universities in Uttar Pradesh reserve some seats under the management quota and institutes are free to fill the seats with eligible candidates. The fees for MBA seat under management quota is decided by the respective institute.

Uttar Pradesh MBA Admission Reservation Policy 2024

UPCET MBA counselling and seat allocation process are purely based on reservation policies of the state government. Private MBA colleges must fill 80% of seats under state quota or convenor quota and 20% seats under management quota. The reservation of seats may change every year.
