Entrance Exams Accepted by Telangana MBA Colleges

The admission in the MBA programme in Telangana is through entrance exams. Applicants can apply for any state-level/national entrance exams. The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the performance in the entrance exam, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the respective colleges. Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance (TSICET) is a state-level exam for admission to MBA programmes, conducted by Kakatiya University, Warangal for admissions to various colleges in Telangana. TS ICET 2020 counselling process is conducted online.

Apart from this exam, you can also appear in national-level exams such as CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ SNAP/ CMAT to get admission in MBA courses.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA Admissions in Telangana

Basic Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) for MBA admissions in Telangana.

Entrance Test: Those who clear the entrance exam can only apply for admission through counselling conducted by the respective authorities. Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the marks scored in the entrance test, GD and PI. A merit list will be published after that with the ranks of the candidates.

Domicile Rules: For TSICET MBA, only candidates belonging to Telangana are eligible to apply. Students from any other state can also apply for MBA in Telangana with a valid CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ XAT/ CMAT score. But the first preference will be given to Telangana students in most colleges.

Telangana MBA Selection Process

TSICET Selection Process: The counselling registration process for TSICET 2020 will be conducted from the last week of June until the first week of July 2020. Candidates will qualify on the basis of the TSICET 2020 cut-off and then the shortlisted candidates will have to take part in the counselling rounds where they will be given seats in the participating colleges. Those candidates will also have to appear for the Certificate Verification Process at the given schedule and venue. The TSICET seat allotment result will be declared in the second week of July 2020.

CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ ATMA Selection Process: Candidates with a valid test score in any of these national-level MBA entrance exams must apply to the MBA colleges individually. These colleges shortlist candidates on the basis of the entrance test exam. After clearing the entrance tests, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the Written Ability Test (WAT/ GD/ PI).

Direct Admission to MBA Colleges in Telangana: Candidates aiming to take direct admission in Telangana MBA colleges must note that it is only possible through management quota seats in the private MBA colleges of Telangana. The fee structure of management quota seats is comparatively higher than the ones obtained through an examination score.

Telangana MBA Reservation Policy

The TS ICET 2020 Reservation policy includes various categories belonging to Telangana and not belonging to Telangana. The categories are given below:

  • Children of Ex-Servicemen/Defence Personnel
