Eligibility Criteria for MBA Admissions in West Bengal:
Basic Requirements: Candidates aspiring to pursue MBA in West Bengal must have at least 45-50% marks in UG.
Entrance Exam: The applicants must have a valid JEMAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ MAT score to get admission in MBA course. The candidates must have minimum qualifying marks in any of these exams to be considered for the admission.
Domicile Rules: The West Bengal domicile rule is applicable to only those students applying for WB JEMAT. Students from any state can apply for MBA course in West Bengal with a valid CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ MAT score. However, the first preference will be given to West Bengal students in most colleges.

West Bengal MBA Selection Process:
JEMAT 2020 Selection Process: The primary shortlisting of candidates is based on the performance in WB JEMAT 2020 exam. Later, the exam conducting authority will upload the list of shortlisted candidates for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The final admission will be based on the performance of candidates in written test, group discussion, and personal interview.
JEMAT exam authority will allocate ranks to the candidates based on their JEMAT 2020 score (both written test, GD and PI). The selected candidates must participate in the counselling process and exercise the options. The seat allocation will be based on the merit.
CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ ATMA Selection Process: Candidates with a valid entrance test score of any of the national-level MBA entrance exams must apply to the MBA colleges individually. These colleges shortlist the name of the applicants based on the entrance test scores. The shortlisted candidates will have to participate in the Written Ability Test (WAT)/ GD/ PI. The final admission is based on the performance of applicants in all the stages of the MBA selection process.
Direct MBA Admission: Candidates who do not have a valid entrance exam score can seek direct admission through management quota. For this purpose, the candidates must apply for private MBA colleges individually.
West Bengal MBA Admission Reservation Policy:
Candidates aspiring to get MBA admission in West Bengal through JEMAT must note that all the seats in MBA colleges across West Bengal to be filled based on JEMAT will be applicable to only West Bengal state domicile candidates. The seats will be distributed among SC/ ST/ OBC/ BC/ General Category candidates as per the reservation policy of the state government.
Candidates applying to West Bengal MBA colleges through national-level entrance test scores must note that the reservation policies are decided by the respective institutes.
