How is NEET SS Cutoff Determined

In the following points, we have provided several factors that may affect speciality cutoffs for the NEET SS 2025 exam:
1. Qualifying percentile: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) generally sets a minimum required qualifying mark for each group and category. The qualifying marks are generally the 50th percentile for each group. Thus, the qualifying percentile further determines the cutoff for respective groups.

2. Difficulty level: The overall difficulty level of the NEET SS exam also helps determine the cutoff marks for admission to medical courses. Generally, when the difficulty level of the exam is high, lower cutoff scores are expected.

3. Number of applicants: The number of applicants appearing in the NEET SS 2025 exam will also play a crucial role in determining the upcoming cutoff marks. More number of applicants makes up for competitive cutoffs.

4. Speciality wise competition: Additionally, the cutoff for different specialities is different. Some of the more in-demand specialities, such as Cardiology and GI Surgery, usually have higher cutoff marks.

LPU provides category-wise relaxation, so SC students may gain admission even with a lower rank compared to the general category. Admission depends on merit, availability of seats, and LPUNEST scores if applicable. Scholarships and fee concessions are also available for deserving SC students.

Yes, Lovely Professional University provides education loan assistance to help students finance their studies. While the university does not give loans directly, it supports applicants by issuing admission and fee documents required by banks, guiding them through the loan process, and coordinating with nationalized and private banks that offer student loans. Many students apply under government education loan schemes or standard bank policies after securing admission. Approval depends on the bank’s criteria, course, and financial background, but LPU’s guidance makes the process smoother and faster.
