IIM Visakhapatnam Selection 2026-28 Phase I

The candidates who select IIM Visakhapatnam as one of their choices at the time of filling up the CAT 2025 application form will be considered for the PI round based on their cutoff scores. The initial phase of selection considers the candidate’s CAT score. The selection is done only if the candidate has secured the minimum sectional as well as overall cut-off set by IIM Visakhapatnam.

In the second stage, IIM Visakhapatnam will consider the candidates' percentage scores in Class 10 and 12 boards. Apart from that, the institute gives certain weightage to work experience acquired by a candidate. The score of work experience for every eligible candidate is calculated out of 8 using the following formula:

• Work Experience = 8x/36 (if 0 <x <36) OR
• Work Experience = 8 (if x >= 36)

Here, x is the number of months counted up to the date of release of CAT notification of the respective year. The work experience calculated with the help of the above formula is multiplied by the quality of work experience score that is given on a 5-point scale.
