JoSAA 2024 Round 2: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) released the JoSAA 2024 seat allotment result for Round 2 on June 27, 2024, on its official website josaa.nic.in. Candidates are required to use their JEE Main / JEE Advanced 2024 application number, password and security pin to access the JoSAA seat allotment result 2024 for Round 2. Candidates are allotted seats via JoSAA 2024 Round 2 as per their merit in the qualifying exam, choices filled by them and the availability of seats in the participating colleges. What is JoSAA Round 2?

JoSAA Round 2 is the second round of JoSAA Counselling process. Candidates can register for JoSAA counselling and fill their choices of preferred course and college during the registration process. Based on the choice filled during the choice filling process, the authorities will release the seat allotment result. The second round seat allotment result will be released on June 27, 2024 in the online mode.

Who is Eligible for JoSAA Round 2 Counselling?

Candidates who were not allotted seats during round 1 seat allotment result of JoSAA or those candidates who are not satisfied with the college or course or both are eligible for JoSAA round 2 counselling.

JoSAA 2024 Round 2 Choice Filling

JoSAA choice filling 2024 is a crucial aspect of the JoSAA counselling 2024 in which candidates are required to select their preferred institutes and courses. The JoSAA 2024 round 2 choice filling process has been discussed below.

  • Step 1- JoSAA Registration: Visit the JoSAA 2024 official website and log in to the candidate portal using your JEE Main/ JEE Advanced 2024 application number and password. Upon successful login, the details of the candidates will automatically be fetched from the database of JEE Main/ JEE Advanced. You can check all the details and make modifications wherever allowed. You can change your password at the time of registration and it is advisable to note down the password as it will be required for the further JoSAA counselling process 2024.
  • Step 2 - Choice filling: After successful registration, you are required to fill in choices of your institutes and courses of preference. There is no limit to the number of choices that can be filled. You must fill in the choices in the order of your priority as you’ll be allotted seats based on your preferences. It is advisable to fill in as many choices as possible to increase your chances of securing admission at the participating institutes.
  • Step 3 - Choice locking: After the filling of choices, you are required to lock the filled choices before the specified last date. In case your filled choices are not locked before the last date, the choices will be automatically locked by the authority.

JoSAA 2024 Seat Allotment for Round 2

The JoSAA seat allotment 2024 is done based on the rank secured by the candidates in the JEE Main / JEE Advanced 2024 exam and the choices filled by them. Candidates can access the JoSAA seat allotment result 2024 for round 2 from the official website using their login credentials. After a seat is allotted to the candidates, they will be provided with 4 options which have been discussed below.

  • Freeze - Candidates who are satisfied with the institutes/ courses allotted to them can accept the allotment and freeze their seats.
  • Float - Candidates who want to keep the allotted seat but also wish to participate in the subsequent round of counselling can select the float option. In such a scenario, candidates can choose either seat allotted to them.
  • Slide - Candidates who are satisfied with the allotted institute but wish to change the course within the allotted college can choose the slide option.
  • Withdraw - Candidates who have accepted the allotment but are not satisfied with the allotted seat and are not in favour of securing admission at the allotted college can withdraw their seats by visiting the respective institutes.

JoSAA Round 2 Cutoff 2024

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will release the JoSAA cutoff 2024 for round 2 on the official website after the declaration of the JoSAA round 2 seat allotment result 2024. The JoSAA cutoff is released in the form of opening and closing ranks. Candidates securing a higher rank than the JoSAA cutoff 2024 will have a greater chance of securing admission into their desired courses and institutes.
