TS ICET 2025 MBA Normalization Procedure

All sessions of TS ICET 2025 follow the same syllabus and pattern, and applicants who meet the eligibility requirements can participate in one session only. Since each session has a different question paper, candidates may compare themselves based on the perceived difficulty levels of the papers for the same subject. However, to address any variations in difficulty levels among sessions, a normalization process is implemented. The purpose of TS ICET 2025 normalization is to ensure that no candidate is unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged due to the different sessions. Although every effort is made to maintain the same calibre of subjects, the normalization formula is applied to eliminate any potential variations in difficulty levels. The Normalization Formula for TS ICET 2025 is provided below.

  • GASD: Sum of the Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of all candidates across all sessions of a subject.
  • GTA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of all candidates across all sessions of a subject.
  • STA: Average mark of the top 0.1% of candidates in a subject of a session in which the candidate has appeared.
  • SASD: Sum of the Average (A) and Standard Deviation (SD) of a subject in the specific session in which a candidate has appeared.

FAQs

What is the tie-breaking criteria if two candidates have the same TS ICET score?

If you and another candidate have the same TS ICET score, here's how the tie is broken:

  • The candidate with higher Section A marks gets the preference.
  • If still tied, the one with higher Section B marks is placed above.
  • If the tie persists, the older candidate is given preference.

What is the validity of TS ICET scores and cutoff ranks?

You can use your TS ICET score and rank only for one academic year, from the date results are announced until the end of that admission cycle . To simply qualify, if you are in the General or BC category, you must score at least 25% (50/200). No minimum is required for SC/ST/OBC/PwD. However, each participating college sets its cutoff rank based on factors like exam difficulty, seats, and category, those apply only to that same admission cycle .

When will the TS ICET MBA cutoff 2025 be released?

You can look forward to the TS ICET MBA cutoff 2025 declaration after the results are declared, which is on July 7, 2025. The cutoff ranks—usually offered in terms of opening and closing ranks for every college and category—should be out by August–September 2025 on the official TS ICET (TSCHE) website. You can keep visiting the counselling portal from July onwards to access the comprehensive cutoff lists.

How is the TS ICET MBA cutoff determined?

You qualify TS ICET MBA by achieving 25% (50/200) or more in the general or OBC category, not a specific minimum for SC/ST. After the results, different colleges release their own "cut‑off" in terms of closing ranks, depending on parameters such as the difficulty of the exam, the number of candidates, the number of seats, reservation guidelines, past trends, and overall performance. That decides whether your rank will get you a seat in an institute's counselling round.

What is the TS ICET MBA cutoff for 2025?

For TS ICET 2025 MBA, you need to score a minimum of 25% (50/200 marks) to be eligible if you belong to the General category; no minimum for SC/ST candidates. There is not even one official cutoff rank—the admission cutoffs differ from college to college and category, depending on seats, competition, and previous trends (e.g., top institutes shut anywhere between ranks 300–2000).
