List of IIT Colleges in India: The Indian Institutes of Technology, popularly known as IITs are the most prestigious and top engineering institutes in the country. They are the autonomous institutes for higher education in the technical field and are most popular for the BTech courses that IITs offer. On September 29, 2015, the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development launched the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), which was approved by the MHRD. This framework describes a way of ranking institutions across India. One of the best ways to select IIT in India is by comparing its NIRF ranking. The NIRF Rankings is released yearly in April and May.
