A Hindrance to Education, Growth, and Community; Striving for Transparency and Inclusivity
By Ashlin Anand .S

2.5

Overall: "I find myself increasingly disheartened by the political atmosphere within my college. Instead of fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth, politics seems to dominate every facet of campus life. It's disheartening to witness decisions being made based on personal agendas rather than the best interests of the student body. The prevalence of cliques and power struggles only serves to further alienate students like myself who yearn for a sense of community and inclusivity. The constant jockeying for influence and favoritism creates a toxic environment where genuine academic pursuits take a backseat to petty rivalries. Moreover, the lack of transparency in administrative processes only adds to the disillusionment. As a student, I had hoped for a college experience centered around education and personal development, but instead, I find myself navigating through a maze of bureaucracy and partisan maneuvering, leaving me profoundly unsatisfied with the collegiate environment.

Placement: While my college offers placement opportunities, they often fall short of our high expectations. Despite efforts from the placement cell, the available placements might not always align with the diverse career aspirations of students. The range and quality of companies visiting the campus for recruitment might be limited, leaving some students feeling underwhelmed by their options. Additionally, the support and guidance provided by the college in preparing students for interviews and job applications could be more robust. As a result, many students find themselves facing a competitive job market without adequate preparation or access to desirable opportunities. While some students secure placements, there is a notable gap between the expectations and the reality of the placement scenario. It's crucial for the college to continually evaluate and enhance its placement programs to better meet the diverse needs and aspirations of its student body.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is undeniably impressive, contributing to its allure and functionality. From state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with modern technology to sprawling libraries stocked with a vast array of resources, the physical facilities offer a conducive environment for academic pursuits. The well-maintained laboratories and research centers provide students with hands-on experience and opportunities for exploration and innovation. Additionally, the meticulously landscaped grounds and recreational areas offer spaces for relaxation and social interaction, fostering a sense of community among students. The presence of well-equipped sports facilities encourages physical well-being and promotes a balanced lifestyle. Overall, the robust infrastructure not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the campus but also serves as a testament to the institution's commitment to providing a holistic educational experience. It stands as a beacon of inspiration, motivating students to strive for excellence and make the most of their collegiate journey. Overall satisfied with infrastructure . Surrounding is the best thing I liked here

Faculty: "The partiality exhibited by the faculty towards students based on their appearance rather than the substance of their work is deeply disheartening. Instead of evaluating academic performance and the quality of content, emphasis seems to be placed disproportionately on superficial attributes such as facial appearance. This practice undermines the integrity of the educational system and erodes trust in the faculty's ability to fairly assess student achievements. It fosters an environment where meritocracy is overshadowed by favoritism and biases. Students who excel academically and invest time and effort in producing quality work are unjustly disadvantaged, while those who may lack substance but possess favorable appearances are unjustly advantaged. Such practices not only diminish the credibility of the institution but also hinder the intellectual growth and development of students. A fair and impartial evaluation system should prioritize academic excellence and merit, fostering a culture of integrity and fairness within the educational community.

Hostel: The hostel facilities at my college are generally satisfactory, albeit with some notable drawbacks. While the environment is acceptable and relatively clean, there is room for improvement in certain areas. The cleanliness standards hover around 90%, leaving a margin for enhancement to reach a more pristine state. However, the food quality is a significant concern, as it consistently falls short of expectations. The meals provided lack taste and nutritional value, which can adversely affect the overall well-being of residents. Despite these shortcomings, the hostel serves its primary purpose of providing accommodation for students pursuing their education. It offers a semblance of comfort and convenience, albeit with the caveat of subpar dining options. Efforts to enhance both cleanliness standards and food quality could significantly elevate the overall hostel experience, fostering a more conducive environment for academic and personal growth among its inhabitants.
