FMGE (Foreign Graduates Medical Examination) is a screening test conducted by NBE (National Board of Examinations) to determine the eligibility of candidates for practising medicine in India.

An Indian citizen or Overseas citizen of India who has passed a primary medical degree and is planning to practice medicine in India will have to clear the FMGE exam. Candidates who have cleared the FMGE exam will be eligible to register with Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council. FMGE exam is conducted twice a year, i.e., in June & December.

Candidates aspiring to appear for the FMGE exam in the future must note that there is no limit on the number of attempts in the FMGE exam, and the candidates who did not qualify in the FMGE December 2019 exam could appear for FMGE June 2020 exam. FMGE exam is conducted for 300 marks, and there is no negative marking for the incorrect answers.
Qualifying FMGE is mandatory for all the medical graduates of India who have completed their primary medical degree, i.e., MBBS course abroad.
