NCHMCT JEE seat allotment for B.Sc. (H.H.A.) and M.Sc. (H.A.) programmes has been released on July 8, 2023, Saturday. Round 3 counselling ended on July 7, 2023, Friday. National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology released the NCHMCT JEE seat allotment 2023 online. Candidates can access the seat allotment results of NCHMCT JEE from here. What is NCHMCT JEE?

National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology Joint Entrance Exam (NCHMCT JEE) is a national level annual hospitality entrance exam for granting admission in BSc (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) and similar other related courses. The exam is conducted by NTA on behalf of the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT). The BSc (HHA) is a three year undergraduate course which is offered by NCHMCT jointly in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The score of NCHMCT JEE is accepted by all the participating Institutes for granting admission to the BSc (HHA) courses. 

The candidates must target the desired college for admission as there are about 21 central IHMs, 25 state IHMs, 1 PSU IHM, and 27 Private IHMs that are affiliated to NCHMCT. All these institutes offer BSc (HHA) courses and the admission is based on the scores obtained in NCHMCT JEE. The questions are asked in both English and Hindi language in NCHMCT JEE. The exam duration is three hours and questions are asked in multiple choice question patterns. A total of 200 questions are asked from different sections such as Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, English Language, Reasoning and Logical Deduction, and Aptitude for Service Sector.

NCHMCT JEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of NCHMCT JEE 2023 must be checked by the students before filling the application form. The students must have completed 10+2 examinations with English as a compulsory subject.  One can check the detailed NCHMCT JEE 2023 Eligibility Criteria as mentioned below:

Age limit: As the upper age limit is fixed for the candidates, they must check the age limit as per the defined category. 

  • Upper age limit for General, General (EWS) and OBC categories - 25 years as of July 01, 2023, which means candidates born on or after July 01, 1997, are eligible
  • 2 years age relaxation for SC, ST candidates and Person with Disabilities (PwD) - 27 years as of July 01, 2023. Candidates born on or after July 01, 1995, are eligible

Qualification: As the candidates are selected on the basis of entrance examination, there is no criteria for maximum marks. However, they must fulfill the below mentioned condition:

  • Must have completed or must be appearing in 10+2 from a recognized board. 
  • English must be a compulsory subject.

List of qualifying exams: The lists of qualifying exams to be eligible for NCHMCT JEE are mentioned below for the reference of the candidates:

  • Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or State Boards of Secondary Education.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized university.
  •  High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University
  • Any Public School / Board / University Examination in India or in a foreign country that must be recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) / Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

NCHMCT JEE 2023 Answer Key

The NCHMCT JEE 2023 answer key (provisional) has been released.. Aspirants can visit the website to download the NCHMCT JEE 2023 provisional answer key. Based on the provisional answer key of NCHMCT JEE 2023, candidates can calculate their approximate marks to ease their minds and anticipate their ranks. In case students find that a certain solution in the NCHMCT JEE 2023 answer key is wrong, they can challenge the question by payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 till 24 May, 2023 (upto 11:30 PM).

The NCHMCT JEE 2023 merit list is not released separately. The ranks of the candidates are available to them through the scorecard of NCHM JEE 2023. However, the ranking/merit of the candidates is decided on the basis of NTA score. In case of tie-breaking when two or more candidates obtained the same score, then following criteria is applied. 

  1. Candidates obtaining higher marks in the English component of NCHM JEE shall be given preference in ranking. 
  2. If the candidates secure equal marks in NCHM-JEE, as well as in the English component of NCHM-JEE, then the candidate securing higher marks in the Service Aptitude Component of NCHM-JEE shall rank higher.
  3. If the tie is still there, then the candidate older in age shall rank higher.
