Andhra Pradesh Common Law Entrance Test is popularly known as AP LAWCET. It is a state-level entrance examination organised by Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Hyderabad. AP LAWCET is organised annually for the candidates who want to get admission in the three-year and five-year LLB programmes offered by the institutes of Andhra Pradesh.

AP LAWCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Sri Krishnadevaraya University, on behalf of the APSCHE (short for Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education), sets the eligibility norms for AP LAWCET. The AP LAWCET eligibility norms prescribe the minimum educational qualifications and age limit required for pursuing the 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated BA/ B.Com LLB programmes.

Candidates have to meet the following criteria to be eligible for AP LAWCET 2018:

Nationality:

  • Candidates should be Indian nationals and satisfy local/non-local status requirements as per Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions Order, 1974.

  • Non-Indian nationals may also apply if they satisfy rules of the concerned Universities.

Age Limit:

  • There is no upper age limit for AP LAWCET 2018.

  • For the 5-year LLB programme, the minimum age of candidates at the time of the examination must be 17 years.

  • For the 3-year LLB programme, the minimum age of candidates at the time of the examination must be 21 years.

Eligibility Norms for 5-year LLB Programme:

  • Candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from any recognised state or central board.

  • Candidates belonging to General/OBC category should have a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

  • Candidates belonging to SC /ST category should have a minimum of 40% aggregate in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Norms for 3-year LLB Programme:

  • Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any subject from a State or Central university.

  • Minimum of 45% marks for General/ OBC category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ ST category candidates in the qualifying examination.

  • Candidates who are in the last year of college can apply for the programme if they meet other eligibility norms.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University does not issue any official syllabus for AP LAWCET. However, on the basis of last year's question paper, we are providing you with a detailed AP LAWCET Syllabus. For the three-year programme, the syllabus is of the degree level, while the syllabus for the five-year programme is of 10+2 level.

There is no official syllabus or guidelines for preparing for this section. According to the instructions given by the authority of the exam, questions from the basic laws of the country will be asked in this section and they will be of elementary level.

AP LAWCET 2018 Exam Pattern

AP LAWCET Exam Pattern has been defined by Sri Krishnadevaraya University on behalf of APSCHE. AP LAWCET is organised in online mode (Computer Based Test) only. The AP LAWCET 2018 Exam Pattern contains the total no. of marks, no. of questions, subjects, marking system and syllabus for AP LAWCET 2018. The questions asked in AP LAWCET 2018 are based on General Knowledge, mental ability, current affairs, Aptitude for Study of Law including Principles of Law and some parts on Constitution of India.

  • AP LAWCET is conducted for admission to two programmes. Both the exams have the same sections but the difficulty level varies according to the programme.

  • The question paper comprises of three sections.

  • The questions asked in AP LAWCET are objective type in nature, which can be multiple choice questions (MCQs).

  • The medium of the examination is in English and Telugu language.

  • A total number of 120 questions are asked in the examination.

  • The total time duration is 90 minutes to complete the examination.

  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

AP LAWCET 2018 Marking Scheme:

  • 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer.

  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answer/unanswered questions.

Note:

The qualifying marks in APLAWCET 2018 is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of 120 marks) and no minimum marks for SC/ST candidates have been prescribed.

AP LAWCET 2018 Result Declared

AP LAWCET 2018 Result has been announced on 14th May, 2018 in online mode on AP EAMCET official website. Candidates will be able to view their AP LAWCET results using their registration number and LAWCET hall ticket number. Now that the result has been announced, AP LAWCET counselling process will begin soon. The AP LAWCET merit list is prepared based on the candidates' scores in the entrance exam. AP LAWCET counselling process involves document verification and the final seat allotment.

AP LAWCET Merit List 2018

The merit list is published category-wise based on the result of AP LAWCET 2018. Only those who score more than the cut-off marks are considered as eligible and are invited for the counselling process.

In case of a tie, the rank is decided based on the following:

  1. By considering the marks obtained in Part C.
  2. If there is still a tie, it is resolved on the basis of the marks obtained in Part B.
  3. If there still remains a tie, the priority is given to the older candidates.

AP LAWCET Cut-off 2018

The cut-off score is the minimum marks a candidate should secure in order to qualify AP LAWCET 2018. The cut-off score of AP LAWCET 2018 is based on several factors such as the total no. of candidates appearing in the examination, total no. of candidates passing the examination, difficulty level of the paper and total no. of seats.

AP LAWCET 2018 Counselling Process

AP LAWCET 2018 counselling process is held after the declaration of the result. Candidates who feature in AP LAWCET 2018 Merit List become eligible for the counselling process.

In order to appear for AP LAWCET 2018 counselling process, candidates have to register on the official website of the exam by paying a non-refundable counselling fee. It is compulsory to present AP LAWCET admit card at the time of counselling. The seat allotment procedure is done on the basis of merit or rank-wise.

AP LAWCET Online Counselling Registration:

  • Candidates have to visit the official website of AP LAWCET.

  • Then, they have to click on ‘New Registration’ link and provide the requisite details such as Admit Card Number, AP LAWCET 2018 Registration Number, Mobile Number, Password, and Date of Birth.

  • After that, candidates have to pay non-refundable registration fees.

  • After successful payment of fees, the selection page appears on the screen.

  • Then, candidates have to provide their AP LAWCET 2018 Admit Card Number with Rank and Mobile Number.

  • The list of available colleges, courses, and course type is displayed on the screen.

  • Candidates have to select their preferred list of colleges and click on the 'Save' tab.

  • After that, candidates receive an OTP for Confirmation. An OTP is sent by SMS.

  • Then, test takers have to click on the 'Confirm' tab, take a printout of the same and keep it safe for the counselling process.

It is compulsory for the candidates to bring all original certificates and one set of Xerox copies of:

  • AP LAWCET 2018 Rank Card,

  • AP LAWCET 2018 Admit Card,

  • Degree & PG Degree Provisional certificates,

  • Mark sheet of Intermediate or equivalent,

  • Mark sheet of Qualifying Examination,

  • S.S.C or its equivalent Marks sheet,

  • 6th to 9th class to Inter, Degree Study Certificates,

  • Income Certificate,

  • White Ration Card,

  • Aadhar card,

  • Caste Certificate issued by competent authority and also CAP/NCC/PH/SPORTS /Minority Certificate (SSC TC containing Minority Status or Certificate from the Head Master), if applicable

Seat Allotment is done in the sequential order based on LAWCET 2018 Rank of the candidate, therefore, candidates are advised to be present for the counselling on the specified date and time allotted to them.

All the certificates and documents of the candidate are verified at the counselling centre on the prescribed date. Therefore, candidates must reach in person with all the necessary documents to the reporting centre.

How to Apply for AP LAWCET 2018

AP LAWCET application process 2018 has already ended. However, law aspirants may take a look at the following process of filling AP LAWCET application form to prepare for next year's exam.

  • Visit the official website of AP LAWCET 2018.

  • Click on the 'Online Application Form AP LAWCET 2018' and then click on ‘Go to Registration’.

  • Before starting the registration, the application fee should be paid by the candidate according to their category. The application fee can be paid either in online or offline mode.

AP LAWCET Online Application Process 2018:

  • The application fee can be paid through debit card/credit card/net banking.

  • For online payment, candidates have to click on 'Proceed to Pay' the fee through payment gateway using 'Credit Card/ Debit Card' tab.

  • After that, a new page opens where candidates have to fill the requisite details such as Name, D.O.B, Mobile No., Qualifying Examination Admit Card Number, Entrance Exam Name (LAWCET 5 year/ LAWCET 3 year).

  • After providing all the required details, click on the tab 'Make Payment'.

  • You will be redirected to the payment gateway where you will be required to pay the application fee through credit/ debit card.

AP LAWCET Offline Application Process 2018:​

  • Candidates have to visit any of the AP centres with requisite details such as Name, D.O.B, Mobile No., Father's name, Qualifying Examination Admit Card Number, Entrance Exam Name (LAWCET 5 year/ LAWCET 3 year).

  • At the AP Online centre, candidates are required to pay the application fee and get the receipt in return, which contains the Transaction ID.

AP LAWCET Application Fee 2018:

  • The application fee for AP LAWCET examination is approximately INR 809 (including processing fee).

Completing AP LAWCET 2018 Application Process:

Revisit the official website of AP LAWCET and login with the application number issued at the time of fee payment.

After that, candidates have to fill the requisite details such as:

  • Personal Details: Candidate's name, date of birth, gender, mother’s name, and father’s name.

  • Qualifying Exam details

  • Entrance Exam Details they want to give – PGLCET/ LAWCET- 5 Year/ LAWCET- 3 Year

  • After that, candidates have to select the convenient AP LAWCET exam centre from the drop-down list and also select a category they belong to as per the caste certificate.

  • Then, candidates must choose the local area they belong to such as:

    • AU (Andhra University)

    • OU (Osmania University)

    • SVU (Sri Venkateswara University)

    • Non-Local

  • If candidates belong to the minority group (such as SC/ ST/ OBC), they should click on the 'Minority' tab.

  • If candidates do not belong to non-minority group (General category students), they will have to click on the 'Non-minority' tab.

  • Candidates must enter their address and class 10th education details such as board name, admit card number, month and year of passing.

  • After that, they must enter class 12th education details such board name, admit card number, month and year of passing.

  • Then, they must select the annual income category under which their parents fall –

    • Below 1 Lakh

    • Between 1 Lakh and 2 Lakhs

    • Over 2 Lakhs.

  • After providing all the information, click on the checkbox, “I accept the terms and the declarations” and click on the 'Final Submit' tab.

After successful submission of application form and fee, candidates must take a print out of the application form for further admission rounds.

AP LAWCET 2018 Answer Key

Sri Krishnadevaraya University started in 1968 as a postgraduate center of Sri Venkateswara University.
