The admission process for BTech and MTech courses 2022 is expected to begin in the month of August. Calcutta University BTech admissions 2022 will be on the basis of the WBJEE and the MTech admissions 2022 will be conducted on the basis of an entrance exam GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) followed by an interview. WBJEE is based on class XI and XII syllabus and the exam will have 2 papers. Paper I will have the Mathematics section and it will have a duration of 2 hours. • Candidates will be selected on the basis of WBJEE 2022

• The marking scheme for WBJEE 2022 is category wise.

• For category 1, one mark will be given for every correct answer and there will be negative marking with 0.25 marks being deducted for each incorrect answer. For marking more than 1 answer, marks will be deducted.

• For category 2, 2 marks will be given for every correct answer and negative marking of 0.50 will be for the wrong answers. For marking more than 1 answer, marks will be deducted.

• In the case of category 3, more than 1 answer can be correct and there will be no negative marking. Candidates will have to mark all the correct answers for which 2 marks will be allocated. But if you mark one correct and one incorrect answer, then no marks will be given.

MTech Selection Process 2022

Given below is the MTech Selection Process 2022 at Calcutta University

• Full Time - For full-time MTech, candidates will be selected on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the respective departments of the university followed by an interview. 70% weightage is given to the GATE score (out of 100) and 20% weightage is given to the marks secured in the entrance test. 10% weightage is for the interview.

• Part-Time - For part-time MTech, candidates will be selected on the basis of the entrance test marks (50%) + interview (50%) including additional weightage of the in-service candidate (in-service candidate can get maximum 20 marks out of 50 interview marks). Without service, the candidates will get 0 marks out of 20 for in-service criteria.

• There will be an entrance test which will have multiple choice questions and will have a duration of one and a half hours. The exam will have 100 marks and the number of questions in each test will be 50. Each question will have four options of answers of which only one will be correct. For every correct answer, 2 marks will be given and there will be negative marking with 0.5 marks being deducted for every wrong answer.
