The candidates who clear the entrance and secure a valid rank in the merit list will be called by the authority for the counselling and seat allotment process. DU B.Tech Selection Process / Merit List 2019

The candidates who score well in the entrance examination and secure a valid rank are called for the selection process by the authority i.e Delhi University. An interview round is conducted, students who do well in it can proceed with the formalities of the admission to the preferred courses. The combined list is prepared to keep in mind both the marks scored in the written exam and interview. The weight of marks for selection is taken into consideration in the following manner:

DU B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

There are certain eligibility criteria that are to be fulfilled by the students who want to take admission in the B.tech courses offered by the University of Delhi. The eligibility criteria for various courses offered differ from each other. These criteria are decided by the authority which is responsible for conducting the admission process. Students aspiring to join DU B.Tech courses should be aware of the eligibility criteria before appearing for it.

The eligibility criteria mostly comprise minimum marks required, level of education, qualifying entrance examination, compulsory subject, etc. Candidates can go through the eligibility criteria given below:

  • Students are required to pass their intermediate level examination (+2 level) from any of the recognized boards of the country.

  • Students are required to have a minimum aggregate of 60% in their best of four subjects.

  • Students are required to have mathematics as a compulsory subject at the intermediate level.

  • There is no minimum age limit for candidates to apply for B.Tech courses offered by Delhi University.

DU B.Tech Application Form

Students who wish to pursue the B.Tech courses offered by Delhi University are required to fill the online application forms. The forms for the current session was available on the official website until 22nd June 2019. Given below is the step-wise process regarding the filling up of the application forms.

  • Interested students have to register themselves in order to apply for admission. Registration includes submission of some of the personal details such as the name of the candidate, email address, password. After entering all the details, they should click on the “Submit” button. Immediately, a screen with all the entered details will appear. Students are advised to save it for future reference.

  • The next step is to fill the application. To do so, candidates will have to visit the official website of the authority. They will need to log in by entering the username and password which has been set at the time of registration. Once the students log in, they will be to fill the application form. Filling of the form requires going through the declaration and accepting it. They will also have to enter the information such as personal details, bank details, sport and extra-curricular activities, mode of admission, etc. After entering all the information, they should press the submit button.

  • The next step involves uploading important documents. This is considered to be a vital step and students are required to be very careful while doing it. The dimensions and format of the documents are prescribed by the authority. Applicants are required to comply with the declarations. The documents which are to be uploaded are - scanned signature, passport size photographs, caste certificates / ECA certificates ( if required ), self-attested copies of mark sheets.

  • After submitting the important documents, candidates are also advised to preview the application form of DU B.Tech 2019. This will give them a scope to rectify any wrong information before proceeding with the payment.

  • The next step is payment of the application fees. It is to be noted that the application of any candidate is not considered to be successful unless he/she pays the application fees. The payment of the fee is done through online mode by using Net Banking or Debit/Credit Card. The application fees are non-refundable. The fee for candidates who belong to the General and OBC category is Rs 500, whereas the fee for candidates who belong to the SC/ST or PWD category is Rs 200. After paying the course fees, candidates will be provided with a receipt. They should keep it carefully for future reference.

  • After the payment, candidates can submit their application form. To be on the safer side, applicants are advised to download the application form and take a printout of it.

DU B.tech Exam Pattern

Students can get admission to the B.Tech courses offered by the University of Delhi by cracking the DUET entrance examination conducted by the varsity. But before, appearing for the entrance, it is necessary for the students to be aware of the examination pattern. Knowing about the pattern in detail will give the candidates an extra edge over the rest. Therefore students should go through this section with utter diligence and prepare accordingly. Important points related to the DU B.Tech exam pattern 2019 are given below:

  • The mode of the entrance examination is offline.

  • The type of questions asked in the entrance exam is MCQ.

  • The duration of the examination is 2 hours.

  • The questions asked are based on analytical and reasoning abilities.

  • The total number of questions asked in the entrance is 100.

  • For each correct answer, the students are awarded +4 marks.

  • There is a scope of negative marking for incorrect answers. 1 mark is deducted for a wrong answer.

  • Total marks of the entrance examination 400.

DU B.Tech Admit Card

Admit cards are considered to be the most important documents for any entrance examination. Candidates had to download their respective admit cards by directly going to the official website of the university authority. Admit cards are required in order to enter the exam halls.

The admit cards for DU B.Tech were released on 30th June 2019. These are steps which should be followed by the candidates in order to gain access to their respective admit cards:

  • Visit the official website of the examination conducting authority.

  • A link for the admit card is visible on the homepage of the official website.

  • Click on the link.

  • A page will appear asking for the form number and date of birth.

  • This will lead to logging into the account.

  • A page with the respective admit card will appear on the screen.

  • Download the admit card and take a printout for future reference.
