Eligibility Criteria for Kerala Polytechnic Admission 2020

  • Senior Secondary Level Certificate SSLC

  • Compulsory subjects in SSC are Mathematics, Science and English

Diploma Courses Offered by Kerala Polytechnic Colleges

The diploma courses offered by Kerala polytechnic colleges are as follows:

Special Batches are conducted for hearing impaired students. These batches are conducted at Women’s Polytechnic College, Thiruvananthapuram, Govt. Polytechnic College, Kalamassery and Kerala Government. Polytechnic College, Kozhikode.

Kerala Polytechnic Admission Process 2020

There is no entrance examination for Kerala polytechnic admission 2020. Admission is on the basis of merit. Go through the following points to apply for Kerala Polytechnic admission 2020.

Fill the Application Form: Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala issues the official notification for admission in diploma courses on the official website. The online application form is released in the month of May. Candidates must visit the official website of the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala and fill the application in online mode.

Submit the Application Form: Once the application is filled in online mode, candidates must take a printout of the application and get it self attested along with the other required documents.

Register the hardcopy of the application at any Government/Aided Polytechnic Colleges in the state and pay the required application fees.

Application Fees: Candidates must submit application fees to complete the application process. It is Rs. 150 for General Category and Rs. 75 for ST/ SC Categories.

Documents Required for Kerala Polytechnic Admission 2020

Following are the documents that need to be produced at the time of Kerala polytechnic admission 2020:

  • Original SSLC/THSLC certificate or equivalent examination

  • Original Mark sheet of qualifying examination SSLC/ THSLC or equivalent along with a Photocopy

  • Original ITI/VHSE/KGCE Mark list/Certificate to avail reservation

  • Certificates to prove nativity as Keralite

  • Original of the Community certificate for SC/ ST category

  • Valid Non-Creamy layer certificate from the authority to avail Community reservation in case of SEBC

  • Physically challenged candidates must produce the original certificate of disability issued by the Medical Board and fitness certificate from the Medical Officer

  • Candidates who want educational fee concession must produce original of the income certificate

Kerala Polytechnic Seat Allotment 2020

The seat allotment for Kerala polytechnic 2020 is mentioned below:

Merit Seats: The State Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (SITTTR) allocates merit-based seats. Merit-based seats are available in both Government-Aided Polytechnic Colleges and Private Self-Financed Polytechnic Colleges.

Management Seats: These seats are filled by the concerned management. 15% intake of each branch is reserved under this category. The seats are allotted on the basis of the eligibility criteria. The list of candidates who are allotted these seats must be approved by the Regional Joint Director or the Deputy Director of the respective region.

Management Seats in Self Financing Programmes: These seats are filled by the concerned management in the Self-Financing programmes which are offered in both Self-Financing Colleges and select aided polytechnic colleges. Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria are only allotted seats.
