JEE Advanced 2024 Exam Day Instructions 

Candidates appearing for the JEE Advanced 2024 must be aware of the important guidelines. Check the JEE Advanced 2024 exam day instructions given below. 

  • Reach your respective JEE Advanced 2024 examination centres before the time mentioned on your admit card to avoid overcrowding outside the examination centres. To ensure a smooth admission procedure and to adhere to social distance standards, you must adhere to the allowed slots 
  • At the exam centre, security staff at the exam centre will use thermal cannons to assess each candidate's body temperature
  • Make sure you pay full attention to the instructions relayed by the invigilators
  • Stay calm during the admit card verification process by the invigilators and representatives from the IITs
  • Hand sanitizers will be available at the exam venue's entrance. Before entering the test hall, all candidates must clean their hands.
  • Please do not get anxious during the logging-in process and fill in your JEE Advanced login details very carefully
  • You will be given enough time to go through the instructions so make sure you read them carefully
  • Submit a copy of your JEE Advanced 2024 admit card to the invigilators and keep the original document with yourself
  • Sanitize your hands before and after providing your thumb impression on your admit card and attendance sheet
  • You have to wait patiently until the exam gets over to move out of the examination hall even if you have provided your responses before the stipulated time period
  • You have to appear in both Paper I and Paper II of the JEE Advanced 2024 exam
  • No extra time will be allocated unless you are using the services of a scribe, in which case, you will be given an additional 1 hour to complete your paper
  • It is encouraged that parents do not linger at the exam centres during exam time
  • Candidates must maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from the property

List to Items Prohibited in Exam Hall on JEE Advanced 2024 Exam Day

  1. Any electronic gadgets (calculators, earphones, cellular devices, health bands etc)

  2. Log table

  3. Any other piece of paper other than the ones mentioned above

JEE Advanced 2024 admit card is a document that all candidates must bring with them when they attend the test centre. In addition, the self-declaration form will be linked at the end of the JEE Advanced hall ticket, making the document much more important.

  • You must carry your JEE Advanced 2024 admit card to exam the centre, with your Photo ID

Can we wear jeans to the JEE Advanced exam?

According to the JEE Advanced guidelines, you can definitely wear a half-sleeved shirt or tshirt with jeans or trousers. Check that the clothes do not have too many pockets.

There is no dress code, but you must be properly dressed to enter the examination centre.

 

Which type of pen is permitted in JEE Advanced?

Yes. As per the official information bulletin (IB), candidates can wear a simple, analogue watch (if they wish to), but it should not be programmable or capable of storing data.

 

What is the timing of the JEE Advanced exam?

The first shift of the JEE Advanced exam will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the second shift will be conducted from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

 

Can candidates arrive at the JEE Advanced exam centre two hours prior to the exam?

Yes. Candidates can arrive two hours prior to the commencement of the exam at the centre. However, everything will commence at the usual time as marked by the IIT Madras in their JEE information bulletin.

Can candidates obtain the JEE Advanced admit card from an offline source?

No. Candidates can only download the JEE Advanced Admit Card from the official website jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates must also keep into consideration that the JEE Advanced admit card will not be sent to them via mail or courier.

 

Do candidates need to get separate JEE Advanced admit cards for both paper-1 and paper-2?

No. Separate admit cards will not be needed for both papers of the JEE Advanced exam. There will be a common admit card for both the papers.

 

Can candidates wear any jewellery on the exam day?

Candidates must avoid any jewellery piece inside the JEE Advanced exam hall. They must not wear metals such as rings, bracelets, nose pins, pendant, earrings, chain/necklaces, badges, brooch, or clothes with big buttons.

 

Do candidates need to carry their OBC certificate along with the JEE Advanced admit card?

No. Candidates are not required to carry their Caste Certificate along with the JEE Advanced admit card on the exam day.

If candidates forget my JEE Advanced admit card, on exam day, can they get a duplicate at the exam centre?

No. Candidates cannot avail a duplicate copy of the JEE Advanced admit card 2024 at the JEE Advanced exam centre.

 

Will candidates be provided extra sheets for rough work in the JEE Advanced exam?

Yes,‌ ‌candidates‌ ‌will be provided blank sheets for rough work in the JEE Advanced exam. However, candidates should remember to drop the papers in the drop box without fail before leaving the JEE Advanced examination hall.

 

Will candidates be provided grace time to complete the JEE Advanced 2024 exam?

No extra time will be provided to the candidates to complete theJEE Advanced exam 2024 in lieu of the time taken for completing the exam formalities. Only those candidates who will be using the services of a scribe will get one-hour compensatory time i.e. the ending time would be 1 PM, for Paper-1 and 6:30 PM for Paper-2.
