JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Day Guidelines/Instructions - Documents to Carry, Covid-19 SOPs

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in India has released some SOPs to contain the spread of COVID-19 during the conduct of examinations like JEE Advanced 2020. Check out all the list of DOs and DON'Ts for candidates appearing in the JEE Advanced exam on 27 September.

JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Day Instructions and COVID-19 Advisories

The JEE Advanced 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted on the 27th of September and knowing the JEE Advanced 2020 exam day guidelines is as important as going through the final stages of exam preparation. Knowing the JEE Advanced 2020 exam day instructions are also important because IIT Delhi will conduct the exam amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the authorities have included some additional special guidelines. The candidates will find out all the special guidelines along with the list of things they can carry and what they can wear and cannot wear while appearing for this year’s JEE Advanced exam in this article. 

Documents/ Items to Carry on JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Day

The pointers below list out all those things that the candidates must carry with them to their respective JEE Advanced 2020 exam centres - 

  1. Copy of the JEE Advanced 2020 admit card

  2. An original photo identity card (PAN card, Passport, Driving Licence, College/School ID, Aadhar Card etc)

  3. Ball Point pen (black and transparent body)

  4. Pencils and Erasers

  5. Simple analogue watch

List to Items Prohibited in Exam Hall

The candidates will find out the list of all those things, which can get them disqualified from taking the exam if found in their possession, from the pointers provided below - 

  1. Any electronic gadgets (calculators, earphones, cellular devices, health bands etc)

  2. Log table

  3. Any other piece of paper other than the ones mentioned above

  4. Handbags or wallets

  5. Full sleeved clothes or clothes having big buttons

  6. Any jewellery items

JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Day Instructions 

Candidates appearing for the JEE Advanced 2020 exam on 27th September must be aware of the following things - 

  • Reach your respective JEE Advanced 2020 examination centres before the time mentioned on your admit card to avoid overcrowding outside the examination centres

  • Make sure you pay full attention to the instructions relayed by the invigilators

  • Stay calm during the admit card verification process by the invigilators and representatives from the IITs

  • Please do not get anxious during the logging in process and fill your JEE Advanced login details very carefully

  • You will be given enough time to go through the instructions so make sure you read them carefully

  • Submit a copy of your JEE Advanced 2020 admit card to the invigilators and keep the original copy with yourself

  • Sanitise your hands before and after providing your thumb impression in your admit card and attendance sheet

  • You have to wait patiently until the exam gets over to move out of the examination hall even if you have provided your responses before the stipulated time period

  • You have to appear in both Paper I and Paper II of the JEE Advanced 2020 exam

  • No extra time will be allocated unless you are using the services of a scribe, in which case, you will be given an extra 1 hour to complete your paper

COVID-19 Advisories for Students Taking JEE Advanced 2020 Exam

Here are some SOPs that the students have to follow who will take the JEE Advanced 2020 exam in the coming days - 

  • The candidates have to maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet while standing in a queue to enter the examination hall

  • The candidates must compulsorily wear face masks

  • The candidates must sanitise their hands frequently during the entire duration of the examination

  • The candidates have to follow the respiratory etiquettes strictly like covering mouth/nose with an elbow while sneezing/coughing etc

  • The candidates should report any kind of illness or uneasiness immediately to their respective invigilators 

  • Spitting is strictly prohibited within the premises of examination halls

Can I leave the examination hall before the stipulated time?

No, you will not be allowed to leave your examination hall before the stipulated time.

If any candidate develops COVID-like symptoms in the middle of the JEE Advanced exam, there are SOPs for that as well like shifting the person to an isolated area/room, seeking help from the nearest medical faciltiy if conditions deteriorates, disinfectioning of the premises etc.

Are all the JEE Advanced 2020 exam centres located outside the containment zones?

Yes, all the JEE advanced 2020 exam centres will be situated outside the containment zones only.

Can I carry my own sanitiser inside the JEE Advanced 2020 exam hall?

Yes, you can carry your own 50 ML hand sanitiser bottle and the sanitiser bottle should be transparent as well.

Will I be given a new mask upon arriving at my JEE Advanced 2020 exam centre?

Yes, after entering the JEE Advanced 2020 exam centre premises, each candidate will be given a new mask and their body temperatures will be checked with the help of a thermal scanner.
