Here are certain pointers regarding MBBS admissions under management quota. If you are interested in taking admission under management quota, you will be required to adhere to the different eligibility criteria and application processes as outlined by the Medical Council of India.

MBBS Management Quota Admissions

With recent amendments made to medical education in India, all aspirants of MBBS in the country are now required to appear for NEET-UG 2021. All admissions to MBBS, whether through Counselling or Management Quota are based on the scores obtained in NEET-UG 2021. NEET 2021 dates are yet to be announced by NTA.

As per the regulations stated by the Central Government, all aspirants have to sit for the national level exam in order to enrol in one of MBBS Colleges in India. While most opt for counselling-based admissions, the Medical Council of India has provided aspirants with the option to go for Management Quota under NEET-UG 2021. In this article, we will focus on the admission process and other important guidelines for MBBS admissions through management quota.

MBBS Management Quota Eligibility Criteria

In order to enroll in MBBS through management quota, the students are required to qualify the requisite MBBS management quota eligibility criteria, as specified by the Medical Council of India and the respective state health and medical education department. The eligibility criteria states:

  • Candidates should have cleared their class 12 board examination in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) or Biotechnology. They are required to have secured 50% aggregate scores in the mentioned subjects.

  • It is imperative for aspirants to have a valid score and rank in NEET-UG 2021, conducted by the NTA.

  • Students all across India are eligible for the quota, as per the directives of the Medical Council of India.

  • All aspirants are required to have secured the following percentile, in order to avail the management quota for MBBS admissions.

  • Candidates should ensure that they complete 17 years of age as on 31st December.

All candidates must note that they are required to secure a percentile as per the requirement mentioned in the table above. For Instance, General Category candidates must have secured 50th percentile or above in order to qualify for management quota seats under MBBS admissions 2021.

Application Process for MBBS Management Quota Admissions

Most states offer MBBS seats under the management quota, for which candidates are required to apply online. Many-a-times, the Govt department responsible for medical admissions. For instance, in Andhra Pradesh, it is NTR University of Health Sciences regulates the management quota seats.

All those interested in enrolling under an MBBS course are required to visit the competent authority, check out the regulations specifically pertaining to management quota seats of the state and apply as per the guidelines mentioned by the State Medical Education Department or equivalent.

Documents Required for MBBS Management Quota Admission 2021

In most cases, candidates will be able to apply for management quota seats through the online mode itself. However, to apply, candidates will be required to keep the following documents required for MBBS Management Quota Admissions:

  • NTA Issued NEET-UG 2021 Admit Card

  • NTA issued NEET-UG 2021 Scorecard

  • DoB or equivalent certificate proving the date of birth of the candidate, issued by the competent authority.

  • 10+2 Passing Certificate

  • Credit/Debit Card for Payment of Fee

As part of the registration/application process, candidates will be required to ensure that paid the requisite application or registration fee. The payment of the registration or application fee will lead to the consideration of the final application submitted by the candidate.

Under management quota seats for MBBS admissions 2021, candidates will be offered a seat based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Therefore, admissions under the management quota will be based on the vacancies available. Each state will allow their respective medical colleges to reserve a certain percentage of seats under the management quota. These seats will be filled by the respective college authorities based on the parameters mentioned above.

Each state will define its own set of regulations fr management quota admissions for MBBS course. Therefore, candidates are advised to check out the relevant state health and medical education department and abide by the rules and regulations outlined by them.
