What is the Master of Design (M.Des) program?

MDes is the Master of Design or PG degree program in the design discipline. Candidates intending to apply for this design creative program must check out it below:

  • Through the MDes program, students can go for different disciplines including Media, Crafts, Publication, Lifestyle Products, Graphics, User Experience and more.
  • MDes programs will provide students with design skills in the advanced software used for designing merchandise and infrastructure.
  • Candidates will be trained in both ways theoretical and practical. They will also allowed to work with design firms to gain industry experience.

Master of Design Eligibility

Master of Design eligibility is subject to differ from one college to another. However, there is a general requirement followed by most of the colleges. Check out the pointers below:

  • They should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% in their graduation.

M.Des Admission Process 2024

The admission process for the Master of Design (MDes) program is dependent on the written entrance exam scores, personal interviews and educational qualification requirements. Candidates must note that the entrance exams can be national-level exams such as CEED, and NIFT or college-level entrance exams such as IICD and various others.

  • Step 1. Registration : Students are first required to register for the MDes program on the official website of the respective college they are planning to apply to.
  • Step 2. Application Form : After registration, fill out the application form before the last date.
  • Step 3. Appear for Entrance Exam : Students then have to appear for the entrance exam as specified by the institution.
  • Step 4. Wait for the Results : The results will be released based on the entrance exam scores.
  • Step 5. Personal Interview Round : After which selected students will be called for the personal interview round.
  • Step 6. Other Rounds : Students will be shortlisted based on the entrance exam scores, and personal interview performance. They will be only called for the other rounds if they are selected based on the above criteria.
  • Step 7. Document Verification : The admission process also includes the document verification round to verify all the documents before final admission.
  • Step 8. Pay Course Fee : Once the student is finally selected they have to pay the course fee for final admission.

  • Step 3 : On the completion of registration, fill up the M.Des application form. Enter the personal and academic qualifications.

  • Step 5 : Pay the application fees through credit card/debit card/net banking. Most of the design colleges do not have refund facilities.
