The UPES DAT 2025 Phase 6 registration deadline has been extended till July 30, 2025, from July 15, 2025. One session of the Phase 6 exam was conducted on July 12, 2025. The Phase 6 exams are being conducted every Saturday. The Phase 5 exam was conducted on June 25 & 26, 2025. The Phase 4 exam was conducted from May 31 to June 1, 2025, for B.Des. The last date to apply for Phase 4 was May 29, 2025. You must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in class X and XII to become eligible for the exam. The UPES DAT 2025 Phase 3 exam was held successfully from May 2 to 4, 2025. The registrations for UPES DAT 2025 phase 3 exam were available at upes.ac.in until the last date, i.e. April 30, 2025, which was extended from April 28, 2025. The UPES DAT 2025 Phase 2 exam was held from February 27 to 28, 2025. The Phase 2 registration was open for B.Des admissions till February 28, 2025, while the registration process closed on February 25, 2025, for M.Des admissions. The application form for Phase 2 was released on February 8, 2025. The UPES DAT Phase 1 exam was conducted from January 23 to 25, 2025. The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) organises the UPES DAT (Design Aptitude Test). Through the scores of this entrance test, students are given admission to the UPES Dehradun. Candidates who clear the written entrance test have to appear for the personal interview and portfolio rounds. The final selection is done considering the eligibility criteria fulfilment and the performance in different admission rounds. Eligibility Criteria for BDes Course

Board Exam Merit: Check out the eligibility criteria for the BDes course below:

• Students who have passed classes 10 and 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible for this design course.

UCEED/JEE Main Merit: If candidates don't intend to appear for the UPES DAT, they can still apply for UPES, however, they must fulfil any one of the below criteria. 

• Students must have scored at least 65% in their classes 10 and 12. 
• They should also have qualified JEE Main or UCEED test. 

Eligibility Criteria for MDes Course

• Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% in classes 10 and 12.
• Their bachelor's degree must be BTech or BE in any field/ BFA (4 years duration), BSc in Design (3 years duration)/ BArch/BDes along with one year of Foundation/ Applied course with a minimum of 50% score. 

Students who intend to get admitted to the MDes course must meet the criteria given below: 

• Candidates without attempting the UPES DAT must have a valid CEED score to be eligible for MDes.

Age Criteria for UPES DAT 

The candidate’s date of birth as per the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will be considered genuine. The ones with a birth date on or after October 1, 1999, will be able to apply through this entrance exam. 

Admission through the CEED Exam 

Students who have qualified for the CEED exam with a score of 40.5 or above will not have to appear for the UPES DAT exam. Such students will have to only appear for the portfolio presentation and personal interview rounds.

Selection Criteria for BDes

• Exam Pathway: Candidates following the exam pathway will be selected based on their UPES DAT performance /board merit along with the portfolio presentation and interview rounds. 
• Non-Exam Pathway: The ones taking the non-exam pathway will be given admission based on their score in the national level exams such as UCEED, NIFT entrance exam, and NID DAT exam. They will be exempted from appearing in the UPES DAT exam but have to appear for the personal interview and portfolio presentation. 

Selection Criteria for MDes

• Exam Pathway: The exam pathway for MDes admission includes the UPES DAT entrance exam followed by interview and portfolio presentation rounds. 
• Non-Exam Pathway: Candidates who have secured a valid CEED score will not have to sit for the UPES DAT exam. They will directly be called for the interview and portfolio presentation rounds.

The result will be released on the official website after the entrance exam is conducted. How to check the UPES DAT Result 2025?

The UPES DAT 2025 cutoff is the minimum cutoff mark that students need to score to get into BDes and MDes programmes. Only the ones securing the minimum cutoff score will be called for the interview round. The cutoff score is expected to be released after the result declaration.

The UPES DAT counselling 2025 will be held to allot seats to the shortlisted students across different courses. The final selected students will receive a counselling round letter on their registered email ID.
