Pharma.D Admissions in India 2020 - Eligibility, Important Dates, Application Process & Selection Process

Pharma.D admissions usually begin from the month of March to July. All details about Pharma.D admissions in India is explained below such as eligibility, application form, important dates and selection process are explained here.

Pharma.D Admissions in India

Pharma.D is one of the well-known courses after class 12th examination. Pharma.D is a professional doctorate course in the field of pharmacy. Pharm. D deals with the clinical study of different drugs and clinical research trials which helps the patients in their treatment. Candidates who are seeking admission in this program may apply at both graduate and postgraduate level. Pharm. D is the only doctoral degree that can be pursued immediately after passing the 12th exam. The candidate seeking admission in pharmaceutical career may apply to PharmD right after their class 12th examination or even completing their graduation. There are two levels of the Pharma.D programme.

The two-level of Pharma.D courses are mentioned below:-

  • Pharma.D (6-years)

  • Pharma.D Post-Baccalaureate (3-years)

Pharma.D Eligibility Criteria 2020

The candidates who are looking forward to taking admission in Pharma.D need to fulfil the following eligibility requirements:-

  • In order to take admission, the applicant should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission

  • The Candidates must have passed in class 12th examination with a minimum of 55% marks from any state/ national education board.

  • Candidates must have also studied physics and chemistry as their mandatory subjects with mathematics or biology as their additional subjects.

Or

  • Candidates should have secured a diploma in pharmacy from any recognized board or university approved by Pharmacy Council of India

Pharma.D

(6-Years)

  • The applicants must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from any college approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

  • And the applicant must have completed their class 12th examination with PCM or PCB as their main subjects or its equivalent qualifications from any recognized university.

Pharma.D Important Dates 2020

Candidates who are looking forward to getting admission to the Pharma.D program must keep track of institute/ university important dates. The table shown below will show you tentative dates so that the candidates can get a brief idea and start preparing for the entrance exam accordingly.

Pharma.D Application Process 2020

In order to take admission, candidates need to fill up the institute application form. The guidelines for filling up the common application form are discussed below:-

Step 1: Registration

  • The applicant needs to first register themselves at the institute official website by providing their personal details such as name, email id and phone number.

  • You must provide the correct email address in the application form, as it will be used by the Admission Office for any communication

  • After the registration, the applicant has to fill up the application form with all their personal details, educational qualifications, qualifying exam and category.

  • The percentage written in the application form will be first considered.

  • Provide all the required information accurately and systematic format

Step 2: Photograph & Scanned Documents

  • While filling up the application form the applicants are also expected to upload various documents such as image, signature, proof of identity, etc

  • Candidates are also required to upload the accompanying scanned image of the document which are asked in the application form

  • Once all the documents have been downloaded, the candidate needs to submit the application form

  • In order to complete the application form, the candidate needs to submit the application fee.

Step 3: Application Fee

  • After successfully filling the application form applicants need to make payment of the application fee as mentioned on the official website and submit the application form

  • The form is considered complete and submitted after the application fee has been submitted.

  • It is also recommended that applicants take a printout of the receipt for future reference

Note:- The authorities of all the Institute will have every right to reject any application forms with invalid information.

Documents Required for Pharma.D Admissions 2020

The documents which are required for admission are shown below, while the same original documents must also be submitted at the time of admission for the document verification.

  • Original admission offer letter

  • Class 10th Marksheet

  • Class 12th Marksheet

  • Graduate degree (For 6-Year Pharma.D)

  • Passport-sized photograph

  • Migration certificate

  • Caste Certificate (If available)

  • Entrance Scorecard Photocopy

  • Photocopy of the last certified mark sheet

  • Transfer certificate

  • Registration payment receipt (Original)

  • Provisional certificate of eligibility issued by this University

  • Passport size photo

  • Application receipt fee

Pharma.D Selection Process 2020

Many colleges follow the merit-based admission procedure for the selection of candidates on the basis of the marks they have obtained in class 12th board examination.Some institutes also grant direct admission to the Pharma. D program if the candidates have passed class 12th examination.

Admission for Pharma. D is also carried out on the basis of an entrance test administered either by central medical authorities, state or university authorities. The candidates will be shortlisted for admission on the basis of the scores that they have secured in the entrance exam. After that, shortlisted candidates will have to visit the institute for the document verification and further admission procedure.

However, some of the popular institutes conduct their own entrance exams for the selection of the students. In these situations, applicants are expected to participate in the entrance exam. Based on the candidate’s entrance scores/ marks institute will prepare a merit list. The candidates whose names appear in the merit list or the cut-off list will be eligible to take admission for Pharma.D course in that particular institute. In some institute candidates also need to appear for the Personal Interview and Group discussion round as a part of the selection process.
