Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is the authority of conducting state-level MBA admissions in Rajasthan. The MBA admission process in Rajasthan is different from the MBA admission process of other states. Earlier, RTU used to conduct Rajasthan Management Aptitude Test (RMAT) for the admission to MBA course. However, the varsity has scrapped RMAT in 2017 and replaced it with CMAT examination. Almost, all the private and government management colleges in Rajasthan accept CMAT score for MBA admissions. Apart from the CMAT score, some of the MBA colleges in Rajasthan consider the score of other national-level entrance exams for MBA admissions. All the details pertaining to MBA admissions in Rajasthan 2019-21 are elaborated below.

Entrance Exams Accepted by Rajasthan MBA Colleges:

CMAT is the major score that is accepted by the government, semi-government and private management colleges in Rajasthan. However, premier institutes like IIM Udaipur do not consider CMAT score for MBA admissions. Such premier institutes accept CAT score. Deemed universities in Rajasthan accept either CMAT / CAT / MAT / XAT score or conduct their own entrance test for MBA admissions. The following is the list of entrance exams that are applicable for MBA admissions in Rajasthan.

Note: Only a limited number of institutes may accept the score of other entrance exams such as ATMA, NMAT and GMAT.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA Admissions in Rajasthan:

Basic Requirements: In order to apply for MBA course in Rajasthan, the candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks. Since most colleges consider CMAT score for MBA admissions, the candidates must also satisfy CMAT eligibility criteria.

Entrance Exam: CMAT score is widely accepted by MBA colleges in Rajasthan except for premier institutes like IIM Udaipur. However, some colleges also consider CAT/ XAT/ MAT score for MBA admission.

Domicile Rules: Candidates who wish to take MBA admission under state quota must have a valid CMAT score and they must have completed Bachelor’s degree, Class 12 and Class 10 from Rajasthan. Candidates who wish to apply for MBA course in colleges that also accept CAT/ XAT/ MAT score need not worry about domicile rules. The domicile rules do not apply for admissions under management quota.

Rajasthan MBA Admission Procedure and Important Dates:

Admission to MBA course in most of the management colleges in Rajasthan is purely based on CMAT score/ merit. These institutes take part in Centralised Admission/ Counselling Process conducted by RTU to enroll students. Some of the top management colleges that accept CAT/ MAT/ XAT score will conduct Group Discussion/ Personal Interview/ Written Ability Test apart from considering the entrance test score. Rajasthan MBA Selection Process:

CMAT 2019 Selection Process: After the announcement of CMAT results, Rajasthan Technical University will begin the registration for MBA course. Candidates who have a valid CMAT score can register through the official website of RTU. After the closing of registrations, RTU will release the MBA Merit List which is prepared on the basis of CMAT score of the candidates.

Candidates who featured in MBA merit list will have to take part in the counselling process and exercise the web options. The seat allocation will be based on candidate’s preference, CMAT rank and availability of seats. Candidates who fail to secure admission in the first round can take part in the subsequent rounds. The admission process will take place until August 2019.

CAT/ XAT/ / MAT/ Selection Process: Candidates who have a valid score in these exams must apply to the management colleges that accept these scores individually. These colleges may grant admission to candidates after assessing their performance in GD/ PI/ WAT.

Direct MBA Admission/ Management Quota Admission: Candidates who fail to secure admission in state quota or do not have an entrance test score can apply for MBA course through management quota of the institute.

Rajasthan MBA Admission Reservation Policy:

For state quota MBA admissions, RTU strictly follows the reservation policies of the state government. Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in CMAT score for the admission to MBA course. RTU will prepare category wise MBA merit list to comply with reservation policies of the state government. In private management colleges, at least 20% seats are reserved for management quota and the institutes are free to fill those seats. Reservation policies do not apply for management quota seats.

  • Domicile Certificate (only for candidates applying under state quota)
  • Class 12 Certificate
  • UG Marks Sheet and Provisional Certificate
  • Class 10 Certificate
  • Score Card and Admit Card of Entrance Test
  • Category Certificate (applicable to reserved categories)
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Proof of Identity
