What is Civil Engineering?

Planning, designing, building, maintaining, and managing infrastructures including roads, bridges, tunnels, schools, hospitals, airports, and other buildings, as well as sewage systems and water treatment facilities, all fall within the purview of civil engineering. Many institutions in India provide undergraduate and graduate civil engineering courses that lead to the awarding of BTech and MTech degrees . A student must first get a BTech in engineering as an undergraduate before they may seek a job or graduate school in the same profession if they want to pursue a career in civil engineering.

Candidates can submit an application for admission to the B. Tech. civil engineering program after completing their 12th-grade year. Admission to civil engineering programmes requires passing entrance exams such the JEE Main, TS POLYCET , BITSAT , WBJEE , MHT CET, and JEE Advanced . Some institutions also offer direct admission based on merit. After finishing the civil engineering degree, you can pursue a career as a civil engineer, CAD technician, consulting civil engineer, or contracting civil engineer.

Dear Student,

The cutoff ranks for engineering admissions in Andhra Pradesh (AP) colleges in 2025, through AP EAMCET, vary according to college, branch, and category.
