    Designing Courses Optional Subjects

    The Designing course subjects taught as optional papers deal with a large scale of topics. Though the subject matter depends on the specialization of the Designing course. The optional subjects are included in the Designing course curriculum with the aim of providing additional knowledge on some important subjects. Sometimes, the principal subject papers of a course are considered elective in some other Designing specialization course. 

    For example, in some universities/institutes Graphic Design is offered as an Elective paper in the BDes Industrial Designing course. However, two types of optional papers can be found in some Designing programs like BDes Industrial Designing courses i.e. university elective and program elective. Topics like Design Thinking, Packaging Projects, Indian Symbology, Interaction Design, Game Design, Pottery, etc are studied through these subjects. Likewise, in the M.Des program topics like Plastics Engineering, Lighting Design, New Media Studies, Automobile Design, Creativity Innovation, and Design Management are included as elective/optional subjects.
