MHT CET percentile = (100 * Number of candidates with a raw score less than or equal to your raw score) ÷ (Total number of candidates). Candidates who will score in the top percentile in the MHT CET 2026 exam will get admission into the top MHT CET participating colleges 2026.
The questions in the MHT CET exam will be based on the syllabus of the State Council Of Educational Research And Training, Maharashtra. Approximately 20% weightage will be given to the Std. XI curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to Std.XII curriculum while setting the MHT CET question paper.
The State CET Cell Maharashtra sets the eligibility and the number of attempts for the MHT CET examination. As per the MHT CET conducting authority, there is no limit on the number of attempts, however, the candidates will only be able to attempt till they reach the upper age limit.
As per the MHT CET passing marks 2026, candidates from the reserved categories are required to achieve a minimum of 40% of the total 200 marks, which is equal to 80 marks. On the other hand, the candidates from the general category must secure at least 45% of the total marks, which is 90 marks out of 200.
As per the MHT CET 2026 exam pattern, the MHT CET exam will be conducted online as a computer based test. MHT CET question paper 2026 will consist of multiple choice questions (MCQs) having four options with one correct answer. There will be no negative marking in the MHT CET 2026 exam.
Since, the MHT CET exam is based on the combination of Std. XI & XII HSC syllabus, it is extremely crucial that you have thoroughly studied your State board text books for the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. However, to get that extra competitive edge over others, it is highly recommended to go through the NCERT books completely.
MHT CET has a high difficulty level but qualifying the exam with good marks is not so challenging since the competition is less. If you are preparing for the JEE Main exam you can easily crack the MHT CET exam.
JEE Main is considered more difficult than the MHT CET exam. The questions of the MHT CET exam will be based on the syllabus of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Questions from the syllabus of Class 11 will account for 20% weightage and 80% weightage will be provided to the questions from the Class 12 syllabus.
The 50:50 rule in the MHT CET 2026 exam states that candidates must score 50% aggregate in their 10+2 boards and the remaining 50% evaluation will be done based on their MHT CET entrance exam score.
Ideally, 3-month time is considered to be good enough for completing the MHT CET 2026 preparation. Students who have started preparing for MHT CET from class 11 or 12 can easily prepare for the MHT CET 2026 exam in 6 months, considering the topics of the MHT CET syllabus 2026 have already been studied in class 11 and 12.
