MHT-CET 2018 Exam Pattern

  • MHT-CET is a Pen and Paper based exam.

  • The test consists of three question papers - Paper 1 is Mathematics, Paper 2 is Physics and Chemistry and Paper 3 is Biology (Zoology and Botany).

  • The medium of language for MHT-CET is English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. However, Mathematics paper is in English only.

  • There will be 150 questions for engineering courses , 200 questions for health sciences and 150, 200 or 250 questions for Pharmacy courses can be attempted.

  • Each paper will be organised for 90 minutes.Therefore, the total time duration for MHT-CET is 3 hours.

Note:

  • For candidates seeking admission in Engineering courses, it is compulsory to appear for both Paper I and Paper II.

  • For candidates seeking admission in Pharmacy courses, it is compulsory to appear for Paper II and Paper-I or Paper-III.

Marking Scheme: The marking scheme is different in Paper 1 and Paper 2 and 3 :

  • Every correct answer carries one mark for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Papers and 2 marks for Mathematics Paper.

  • There is no negative marking in the entrance exam.

MHT-CET 2018 Syllabus

Chemistry:

States of matter: Redox reaction, Gases and liquids, Nature of Chemical Bond, Surface Chemistry, Hydrogen, Basic principles and techniques in organic Chemistry, s-Block elements(Alkali and alkaline earth metals), Alkalanes, Some basic concepts of Chemistry.

Physics:

Scalars and Vectors, Force, Measurements, Refraction of Light, Friction in solid and liquids, Ray Optics, Magnetism, Magnetic Effects of electric current.

Mathematics:

Trignometric functions of compound angles, Trignometric functions, Factorisation Formulae, Circle and Conics, Sets, Straight Line, Proabability, Relations and Functions, Sequences and Series.

Biology is consisting of both Zoology and Botany of Class 11th and Class 12th.
