Seat Intake and Reservation for NID DAT

NID Seat Intake and Reservation Policy: NID offers both B.Des and M.Des programs. The selection of students for these two is done via the NID DAT 2025 merit list that is created based on the NID DAT 2025 results . The NID DAT 2025 is further divided into two stages: DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Initially, candidates should appear for the Prelims test, and after successfully passing the same, they are called for the Mains.

The NID DAT 2025 Prelims exam is scheduled for January 5, 2025. The NID DAT 2025 application form was made available on September 3, 2024 onwards. NID offers 425 seats for the B.Des programme and 347 for the M.Des program. Seats will be allocated category-wise based on the merit list for OBC, SC, ST, PwD, and EWS. NID follows a specific seat reservation policy for its admissions each year. Below is a detailed breakdown of the seat reservation system at NID.

How to Get a Seat in NID?

To secure a spot in NID DAT 2025 participating colleges in India, candidates must pass the NID Design Aptitude Test.  The admission process involves these steps:

  • Registration: Candidates start by filling out the online form on admissions.nid.edu. During registration, they provide personal and academic details, upload documents, and pay the fee.
  • Admit Card: NID issues NID DAT 2025 admit cards to registered candidates. These can be downloaded from the official website. Only those with admit cards can sit for the entrance exam.
  • Exam Attendance: Candidates then take the entrance exam on the assigned date, as stated on the admit card.
  • Result and Counselling: The NID DAT 2025 results are posted on the official website. Successful candidates must attend counselling for seat allocation. Seats are assigned based on exam scores.

Understanding of Seat Intake and Reservation comes in handy once you have qualified the entrance exam of design. NID conducts NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains) before finalising the admission of a candidate in the desired course.
