Known for excellent educational standards, Haringhata Mahavidyalaya is a Government-aided college located in Nadia, West Bengal. Qualifications for admission in Undergraduate courses in Haringhata Mahavidyalaya 

The college requires specific qualifications for students seeking admission to the HM Nadia (West Bengal). Below is the list of the qualifications students must consider.

The board from which the student would pass the higher secondary or 10+2 qualifying examination should be any of the following-

> West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE)

> Other equivalent State Board or council 

> West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling 

> The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) accreditation by the DEB or Distant Education Bureau.

> Any other board should have an equivalent marking system, i.e., there should be a maximum mark of at least 100. 

>The board that conducted the 10+2 qualifying examination for students who have graduated from a vocational stream should be either of the following:

> West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development (WBSCTVESD)

> Any other board or council that is equivalent to WBSCTVESD

The students who qualified from the vocational stream will only be eligible to take admission in the general/program courses in the Haringhata Mahavidyalaya West Bengal. 

Criteria for Students with Year Gap

Students with no more than 3 year-gap can seek admission to the college. It means students will be allowed to apply for college or take admission in the college only up to three consecutive academic sessions in which the year of passing is included. It means students who passed their 10+2 qualifying examination in 2022 will be eligible for admission up to 2023-24 academic sessions. 

The candidate must have passed Class 12 to get admitted to HM Nadia in 2023. Those who want to take admission in BA (Hons.) must have: 

1. A minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in the subject or
   related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
   or
2.  50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at
   the previous qualifying examination.
   or
3. 55% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject or
   any related subject in his /her previous qualifying examination provided all
   other clauses are satisfied (especially Rule 5). 

Relaxation for categories

The college will give a 5% relaxation to students belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe categories in each of the criteria mentioned earlier. For example, in the case of the 2nd criteria, S.C. and S.T. have to score a minimum of (50-(50*5%))% or 47.5% in the 10+2 qualifying examination, while other categories have to score at least 50%.

Economics

In this case, the total seat available for students in Haringhata Mahavidyalaya (H.M.), Nadia is 15. In HM, Nadia, West Bengal, for B.A. (Honors) in History, the seat intake is 141, and students from the unreserved category can avail of 74 seats among them. There are 30 seats reserved for students from scheduled caste categories. In addition, 7, 13, and 9 seats are reserved for scheduled tribes, OBC A, and OBC B, category respectively. 4 seats are there for PwD students from the unreserved category. In each of the other categories, 1 seat is available as reserved for PWD students. 

Philosophy

A total of 40 seats are available for students who are willing to take admission in the B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy. 21 seats are there for students from the unreserved category. In addition, 8 seats among the 40 are reserved for the scheduled caste category. 1, 3, and 2 seats are reserved for S.T., OBC A, and OBC B students. Political Science

A total of 61 seats are there for admission in the B.A. (Hons) in Political Science in Haringhata Mahavidyalaya (Nadia, West Bengal). Thirty-two seats are available for the unreserved category. A total of 31 students are there for the B.A. (Program/General) course in Geography in Haringhata Mahavidyalaya. Candidates seeking Haringhata Mahavidyalaya admission may apply for admission under the sports quota. For this, students have to collect the form for Sports Quota, which is available for free. The university will not consider an application in the sports quota if the application is not made in this way. For honours courses in Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Commerce, and Bachelor of Arts, only one seat is available for sports quota in each course. Eligible Games for Sports Quota 

There are different games for men and women for being eligible in the sports quota. For men, Badminton, Athletics, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Handball, Gymnastics, Kho-Kho, Kabadi, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Yoga, and Weight lifting will be considered eligible games. For women, Badminton, Athletics, Gymnastics, Basketball, Kabaddi, Handball, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Volleyball,  Weight lifting, and Yoga will be considered eligible games. 

Eligibility Criteria for Sports Quota at Haringhata Mahavidyalaya

> Following Inter-University Sports Board regulations, all students who apply under the sports quota must be willing to take part in all Inter-University Games and sports.
