A standby power generator 250 KVA is provided in the campus to take care of the occasional power shut down due to maintenance.

A campus-wide wireless computing network is in place that allows faculty, staff and students to log on to the Internet at any point of time. The Internet lab powered by dedicated leased lines (upto 68 Mbps) is open for students even after college hours to help them spend extra time to make use of the abundant information available on the Internet.

Sri Sai Ram Institute of Technology Hostel & Fees Structure

A home away from home provided for both boys and girls separately accommodating student strength of 293 boys and 208 girls in an area of 20529 Sq. m. The architecturally designed buildings and the surroundings offer a cool, green, pleasant and eco-friendly atmosphere which stimulates positive learning. It provides a lively environment which helps in healthy interaction among the students.

Boys Hostel

The hostel constructed in an area of 10,836 Sq. m consists of two places.

phase I:
Consists of ground floor and two floors consisting of 80 rooms.

Phase II:
Consists of a ground floor and four floors consisting of 100 rooms. Each room accommodates four students. A separate reading area for the students, Gym and Recreation rooms are also available apart from this the hostellers also enjoy the freedom of an easy access to the computer and internet facility.

Girls Hostel

The hostel Constructed in an area of 9693 Sq. m it consists of two phases.

phase I:
comprises a ground floor and two floors consisting of 60 rooms.

Phase II:
Consists of a ground floor and four floor consisting of 100 rooms. Each room accommodates four students. Apart from this a reading area and recreation rooms are also available. They are also provided with an easy access to the computer and internet facility.

Internet Facilities:

  • Students can access the internet (24 x 7) by either wired or wireless.

  • Students can use the wired network by plugging the network cable in the network wall outlet.

  • Student can connect to the wireless network by selecting the network named sairam boys hostel or sairam girls hostel and use the WPA security key provided to students.

Students Activities & Clubs

NCC Club -

National Cadet Corps, a Tri-Service Organization comprises the Army, Navy and Air Force. The aim of NCC is to groom the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. National Integration has realized the importance of NCC,because it endorses Unity, Discipline, and Good Leadership. The NCC Army Senior Division Wing (for boys and girls) has its start in the year 2014, at Sri Sairam Institute of Technology. Col. K. N. Anbunathan Commanding Officer 1 (T.N) Medical Unit, NCC, Chennai – 03, has inaugurated the function.

Ever since its inception, it has been functioning effectively and extremely well with the constant support from the Management.

The main aim of NCC is to cultivate Unity and Discipline in the minds of the cadets. The cadets including girls have been selected, based on their skills and ambitions. These cadets have given training in the field of Foot Drill, Firing, Light Flying, Aero Modeling and Weapon Training.

In Annual Training, among ten other colleges, one of our college cadets has been privileged to represent the NCC Medical Unit (TN). Cadets of our college have been trained in various camps like Attachment Camp, CATC Camp, RDC Camp and Firing Camp. Nearly, 12 Cadets have experienced a thrilling journey in Micro Ling Flight all over Chennai. During our college Blood Donation Camp, all our Cadets have donated blood along with our college NSS Volunteers.

As a part of social service, nearly, 25 Cadets have gone to Nagapattinam to serve the affected areas of TSUNAMI. A Cycle rally has been organized in Kanchipuram to create social awareness among the public. This kind of training and service will be continued by the NCC Department for the society without end.

Information for Examination Admission is given below:

1 . After completing two years, cadets can attend ‘B’ Certificate Examination.
2 . After completing three years, cadets can attend ‘C’ Certificate Examination.


NSS Club -

Introduction National Service Scheme (NSS) is a permanent youth programme under the ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and funded by Government of Tamil Nadu and Government of India in the ratio of 5:7

Objective of NSS

Development of personality of students through community service.

Motto

The motto of NSS is “NOT ME BUT YOU”. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society as a whole. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need of selfness service and appreciation of the other man’s point of view and also consideration for fellow human beings.

Symbol

The NSS symbol is based on the “Rath Wheel” of the Konark Sun Temple of Orissa. The giant wheel portrays the cycles of creation, preservation and release and signifies the movement in life across time and space. The design of the symbol, a simplified form of Sun Chariot Wheel primarily depicts movement. The wheel signifies the progressive cycle of life. It also stands for dynamism and progressive outlook of youth.

NSS Unit & Programme Officer

One NSS Unit consists of 100 student volunteer guided by one Programme Officer who will be a faculty member. The Programme Officer is expected to motivate the student youth to understand the values and philosophy of NSS. The overall functions of Programme Officer are to help the students to plan, implement and evaluate the activities of NSS under his/her charge and give proper guidance and directions to the student volunteers.

Regular Activities

A seminar on “Waste material Management and Environmental awareness” was conducted on 27th October 2010.The presentation by Mr. S. Indra Kumar, an environmentalist from ExNoRA enthralled the students on the safety of our environment.The programme dealt with the conservation of the resources in environment and recycling wastes. The programme was very helpful for the students who attended the seminar.


Health Club -

YOUTH represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme. Youth Red Cross Students Unit Inauguration

The activities for the YRC unit for the academic year 2010- 2011 was inaugurated by Prof. A. Khader Basha Honorary Secretary Indian Red Cross Society on 22nd July 2010.He stressed the salient features of the YRC and urged the students to participate in the services of humanity. Dr. K. Palani Kumar welcomed the gathering. Mr. K. Phanuel Robinson, YRC Coordinator enumerated the various activities of our college in the past years

All the Cadets actively participated in social service and they also donated blood along with our college NSS volunteers during our college Blood donation camp.
