#Go through the B-Schools’ mission statement

You are advised to read the mission statement as well as the vision of the selected B School. The interviewer might ask you about the college’s mission. You are also advised to go through the awards, recognitions, courses offered and other achievements of the business school.

#Do Your Research

You are advised to do proper research on determining whether the interview will be blind or not. A “blind” interview means that the interviewer has not gone through your application in detail. In this case, he will ask you questions about your goals, achievements, and your interests. In a blind interview, you can also share the information that is already provided in your CV. On the other hand, in a non-blind interview, the interviewer has already read your application and he will ask questions from the topics that are not covered in the CV.

Given that you've most likely applied to many business schools, make sure to spend some time studying the essays and CVs you have submitted to each before going in for the interview round.

#Practice Common Questions

There are some of the questions such as “Why this school?”, “What are your strengths/weaknesses?” and “What are your career goals?” are commonly asked in the personal interview. You are advised to practice these questions. We have provided some examples of commonly asked questions in personal interviews and how to answer them in the table provided below.

What are your strengths/weaknesses?

#Practice, Practice, and Practice

You should prepare for a business school interview the same way you would for any other job interview. You can make a list of hot topics and important questions. You should read newspapers, articles, magazines, and novels daily. This will not only improve your communication skills but also boost your confidence. You are advised to read all the answers you have prepared for the common interview questions. It should be noted that you do not over-rehearse all the questions since they might sound scripted. Apart from this, you can also ask a friend for a mock interview.

#Dry Clean Your Suit

Appearance is also an important key to cracking an interview. You are advised to wear a suit while appearing for the interview round. You should decide what to wear on the interview day at least one week before the interview and make sure it’s not wrinkled or dirty. If it is, take time to get it clean and make it ready before the interview day. Besides this, you should also avoid wearing unnecessary fashion accessories while appearing for the interview.

Apart from all the tips provided above, you should try to be yourself and be confident while answering questions in a personal interview. If you have previous work experience, be prepared with answers related to your job profile and sector.
