What to do after JoSAA round 5? After the fifth round of JoSAA counselling is successfully overconducted,  and if you've been allotted a seat, you will have to download the JoSAA 2025 provisional seat allotment letter and make the seat acceptance payment. You'll then proceed to report at the closest reporting centre to complete the document verification and to choose whether to freeze, slide, or float your seat. In case you are not allotted a seat in the fifth round, you don't need to reapply for the JoSAA sixth round. Have a look at the steps to be undertaken after JoSAA Round 5 in the following sections.

What to do After JoSAA Round 5?

After the JoSAA 2025 Round 5 seat allotment result is declared, you will be provided with three options-

  • Freeze - Choose this option if you are happy with the seat which has been allotted and decide to withdraw from participating in any further JoSAA counselling rounds in 2025
  • Float - Go with this option if you are content with your current seat but would like to be considered for other colleges or universities in the further round of the JoSAA seat allocation
  • Slide - Select this option if you are content with the allotted seat but are also open to being considered in a better-preferred course at the same institute. You have to be careful during selecting the option as it is a crucial aspect of the entire JoSAA 2025 counselling process.

Acceptance of Seat

In case you are content with the current seat, institute, and programme which has been allocated to you, then you should freeze and accept the seat. By virtue of this step, you are officially out of the further JoSAA counselling process 2025 and will be provided admission across the college which you have been allotted after paying the requisite seat allotment fees and getting the documents verified. Uploading of Documents

Upload the scanned copies of the required documents according to the guidelines laid down by the JoSAA 2025 portal after accepting the seats.You will be needed to provide all the documents as original hard copies when you report at the college for the document verification procedure.

Seat Acceptance Fee Payment

The further step to undertake after accepting or freezing the allocated seat is to pay the JoSAA 2025 seat acceptance fees using an e-challan or SBI Net Banking. You will only have to pay the JoSAA 2025 seat acceptance fees, which will be subtracted from the JoSAA admission fee as every institute has a different admission fee.

Document Verification & Reporting

After completing the document uploading procedure, you must report at the JoSAA reporting centre 2025 according to the specified date without failure along with the original documents. It is advised to keep all the required documents ready before reporting.

Dual Reporting for Document Verification

  • If you choose the float option during accepting a seat at an IIT in one round and an NIT/IIIT/GFTI in the further round, you will be asked to make a visit to the institute again for the document verification.
  • You should come back to the institute for the document verification in case you are offered a seat in an IIEST, NIT, IIIT (Triple-I-T), or Other-GFTI in one round and an IIT in the next round.
  • You will not be accepted for the reserved seats in case you do not show up again for the document verification. Also, you will not be allowed to participate in any additional round of seat allocation.

If you have not selected freeze or float as your option, then you can choose the slide option to upgrade your course. By virtue of doing, so you will have to report and undertake both online and offline reporting and wait for a course upgrade in the further round of allotment.
